Guest alexk02
'95 Brighton, MT2, 2.2L. 183K mi. Check Engine light came on while driving. I don't notice any changes in the way engine sounds or the way car drives. Is there any way to figure out what this lights means without buying an expensive factory decoding tool? Much appreciate any info. Alex:
Guest intrigueing
That depends - 95 was a year of the OBD I to OBD II switch. If your car has a little cover on the left of the drivers side dash area, with plugs your car is OBD II, otherwise it is OBD I Some dealers, Autozone, or other parts places will scan OBD II codes for you for free. You can not pull them easily without expensive equipment. OBD I you can pull easily yourself, find a post from Josh and go to his website for instructions. Guest alexk02
Thanks, Intrigueing. It is an OBD2. I'll try at the local Pep Boys. Alex

[/b] My car is a 93 Legacy so will be OBD I. Tried to search for a post from Josh but drew a blank. Do you have his website URL handy?
