I need to find out the manufacturing date. I’m trying to buy a steering knuckle/bearing/spindle assembly from the junk yard and evidently there’s a mfg. split. They have the part for after 12/99 but not before. I need to know which one is mine.

They want $80 for the whole assembly (no guarantees), is that reasonable for a jy part?

May, 2000 is the mfg date

The manufacture dates is also stamped on the metal plate inside the door jamb. open your drivers side door and it'll show some information - like that date and the recommended tire pressures for your car.

 

$80 isn't dirt cheap, but seems reasonable for a newer hub.
