Is it possible to retrofit or maybe direct swap of the steering wheel on MY 95 legacy with the one from MY 97 legacy? The 97 legacy has a good leather covering.

The style of the 95 is different than the 97, so I guess the airbag will be swaped as well.

OK....so I asked about this.

 

The splines on the steering shaft should be the same, so I wouldn't worry about that.

 

Pull both airbags and check their impedences with a meter. If they are both the same, then, with the battery disconnected, simply swap the connectors from your 95 airbag onto the 97 airbag. Problem solved.
