February 3, 200917 yr I was wanting some info on the wiring modifiying that needs to be done to get a EJ22 to work with a ford escort distributor? The three wires that come from the distributor off of a '83 ford escort, is the main source of questions as to where they go? Is there any other wires that need to be used for the distributor? What ones get connected to the coil on a ea81 chassis vehicle? Any help is apreciated.
February 4, 200917 yr depending on the year it came from you can get all black wires,if you bought the module from the parts store you could get all black wires,if you got it from a junker you could get all kinds of different colored wires. what year?where did you get the module?round plug?long ovalish plug.....? i have a couple of diagrams,give me a shout and we can chat about it.cheers, brian Edited February 4, 200917 yr by monstaru
February 4, 200917 yr If you don't mind, I'd like to know which wires go where as well. I'm planning a carbed 2.2 swap for my brat, and after having the original 1.8 distributor fail, I'm leaning toward getting a new or rebuilt Escort distributor for my build rather than yanking one from a wrecking yard.
