93 2.2 into 96 obw?

Featured Replies

no.

well yes, you can make anything work. people have put V8 350's in an XT before!

it's not a direct swap but it could be done. what you NEED is a 1995+ EJ22 intake manifold. what you need beyond that i don't know.

use your intake manifold of the 96, bolt it onto the older 93 or whatever year it is, and bolt it into your car.

only thing you are gonna run into is that from 90-95 the exhaust was a dual port manifold, on 96+ its a single port exhaust so you will have to find a new from Y-pipe section to match the longblock you put into the car.

if you decide to go that route look up Aaron's Auto Wrecking, its a subaru only wrecking yard and they are a vendor on this forum, they can get you set up.

nah, that doesn't work...with one exception:

I need to check but can i take 2.5 intake and put on 2.2?
depends, you haven't given us enough information.

usually you can not do that for this swap.

the only time you can do it is on the oddball 1996 OBW manual trans - those came with EJ22's. all other OBW's come with the EJ25. so if yo'ure lucky and it's a manual you're gold....it's just an EJ22 swap, not an EJ25 swap.

otherwise swapping the intake manifold isn't going to work for you.

ahh yours has a 2.5, then swap in the 93 engine, swap on the 2.5 intake wiring and it should be good
