April 6, 200917 yr So I've been doing runs with the "Pacific Northwest Backroad Adventures" guys. Scoobyclimbs and I headed up to Zillah, WA on saturday to meet up with the group. (and right away we both kicked ourselves for not letting guys here that live around there know about it) Seems almost everything was in pairs. All various levels of "builtness". We had 2 Soobs, 2 Bronco2's, 2 Toy FJ's, 2 explorers (one of which made the top of rollover hill), 2 Toy pickups, 2 XJs, a CJ7, a YJ, and a Sammi. Went and played around. Mostly easy stuff with a few more technical trails thrown in. Lots of sandstone which gave great traction but sometines had a ton of dust on it which did not. Gregg broke a front and a rear axle at the same time . He has a talent for it..... hehe Good thing he brought a front or it would have been a long trip home. One wheel drive in back in low range. (for some reason his hi range 4WD does not work, goes straight to low) Anyway some pics. I'll make the very few Soob ones big. The rest will be clickable. As more of the Soob pics show up on the PNWBA site I'll post 'em up. (we were too busy driving to get out for pics, but other guys got some of us.) "The Slab" And a video. I'm in the beginning. And near the end is the footage of Gregg blowing his axles. You can hear the rear one go and see it hang down. Hope to see some other vid show up as well as there was a pro style big camera out and about in the group (one of the guys does vid stuff)

Been welded up for quite awhile (longer than SC has even had his hatch) and not had a problem. *knocks on wood* For the longest time my tires were bigger as well. Now we run the same size. Always been doing the same trails since he got his. I'm thinking it's still a rear suspension geometry thing as he is lifted and I'm not. My diff still sits higher than his and I think it may be allowing the rear axles to be level on climbs. his will get squatted more. Thus streching them. Not sure. It has gotten better after he did some changes, but seems a bit more work is needed. Just glad he had a spare front with him. Or it would have been a long trip home.
