fuel sending unit

Featured Replies

my neighbor has a 87 Brat the fuel sending unit is shot (gas tank part)

local sube dealer no help

does it interchange with any other suby or any body got a idea where to get one

thank you

A description of the specific problem might help. I've been told by several people here that the connectors on the unit get corroded and that cleaning them up might fix the problem.

Other than that, the sending unit should be the same on any EA-81 car. There are a couple currently at the Lynnwood pull-a-part.

3 of the 5 BRATs I've owned have had issues with the connections for the sending unit. Check those first, before buying a sending unit.

Can't give the wire color right now for either, but one is for the gauge, other for the low fuel light.

Id agree clean the contacts. You can ground one of the wires and if the gauge rises to F your gauge is good too.

Any Ea81 non digi dash car except the hatchback will have the same sending unit. Be real careful with the nuts on the tank to sender connection those little guys can snap off easy. Penetrating lube a few days in a row and then try with a very short 1/4" ratchet and shallow socket.
