2002 Impreza wanting to stall?

Featured Replies

Hello all, great forum! I have an automatic impreza that seems like its not getting gas, it lags at a stoplight in drive position but also at higher speeds. It hasn't stalled yet but it seems like it might eventually. Does anyone have any insight as to what this could be?

thanks very much!

I would probably start with the basic tune up items, filters, spark plugs, etc if you have not done them recently.

If you or someone you know has an OBD2 scanner, you can watch the ECU parameters to help aid in troubleshooting.

ok , i changed the air filter and it helped but it still lags. I'm going to change the plugs but could it possibly the fuel filter?

thanks

Always helps to provide more information--how many miles on the car? History? How well has it been maintained by you or previous owner?

New fuel filter might help a lot. New plugs and wires might be needed. Hard to tell without knowing more about the car.

2002 , 200,000km's on it , always runs great. Put a new air filter in yesterday and it helped but it still wants to stall. I'm taking it to a mechanic today to change teh plugs and fuel filter. Thanks for all your help!
