June 8, 200916 yr I need a 1996 man tran for legacy outback SW. Production date 09/95. I believe the cutoff date is 05/09 and goes through most of 97, but am not surethe type is: Ty752 VABC A. June 10, 200916 yr What??? Your post doesnt say much of anything. Is it an ej22 or ej25? I know that any 2.2 trans will bolt up to any 2.2 engine. Ive got a 91 trans in my 95. With a manual trans theres not much electronics to be "converted"
June 14, 200916 yr 96 Manual Outback will be a 2.2 with a 4.11 final drive trans. Cable Clutch. You can use any 90-96 Legacy or Outback trans. You will need to install the Speedometer sender from your Outback trans into the earlier ones. It screws in right where the cable goes.

It screws in right where the cable goes. :banana:Hey thanks, I knew there was a difference,and I thought there was more to it only screwing the sender in, but it makes sense, I knew it bolted up, and that the 96 had more information to digest in its brain, I guess the actual speed the car is going is what the engineers at Subaru thought would make the difference, who knows?
