June 26, 200916 yr I can't recall where it is. But I've got a 96 2.5 setting here that had bad bearings I took out of a running(poorly running) car with no CEL about a month ago. Tell me where it is, make me an offer. I may be able to get it out tomorrow. I believe I've looked at one trouble shooting a car but it wasn't the problem so I forget where it is. Unless it's not on the engine?
June 26, 200916 yr Author Mine is a wagon. It was located in the rear passenger side underneath by the tank and charcoal canister..not sure if they are the same as a 2.2..anyone have a part #?
June 26, 200916 yr Didn't save that part. But if it's pricey I'll be parting a 97 OBW in about 2 weeks.
June 26, 200916 yr Author Looks like its model specific..need part # 42084FA090..they asked for my vin as there was a change mid year..dealer wants 155.00!! Found it online for 111.00.Is there anyway to cheat these? I have a cel on and it wont pass NY inspection.I have until Sep. to figure it out.
June 26, 200916 yr Send me a pic and a location. If noone else has one I'l lbe parting a 97 OBW in a few weeks. I'll look for it and it's part# then.
July 8, 200916 yr Author can get a pic as mine rotted away..its a bacl box with a connector to it,and the vent hoses connect to it..are you still parting out the wagon?
July 8, 200916 yr Yep. Been tied up with a 95 LSi and went to look at a WRX tonight (which would be my first). Trying to get to my antiques. Picked up a clutch kit, rear main seal, etc for the 71 bus today. I need to get another car in tomorrow to determine whether to fix it or part it (a VW). Then it'll probably be parting the 97 OBW unless I get this WRX.
July 9, 200916 yr Junkyard. If its just the canister you need, they all work the same way, you can rig up one from a Ford (I know, god forbid) or any other car/truck and it'll work well enough.
