2001 OBW Chugging/Bogging

Featured Replies

Hey,

So i am new to this site and i am looking for a bit of advice as to what is going wrong with my baby!!

For about a month now my 2001 OBW has been chugging when trying to accelerate and also when i am sitting at lights. It almost feels like the engine is having trouble getting gas to it because it will chug a few times when i first press on the gas and then randomly it will 'catch' and take off at regular acceleration.

This problem seems to come and go randomly, some days i will drive around and it will be fine but other days the problem persists even when driving at high speeds. I have taken my car into the shop and they changed all the spark plugs and wires along with the air and fuel filter but that did not seem to help anything. the problem also seems to lessen direstly after i put fuel in it and she drives the best on a full tank of gas.

If any one has experienced this problem or has any advice for me then i would love to hear from you.

When asking, more information helps. What engine - 3.0 or 2.5? What transmission? How many miles?

Do you always get your gas at the same place?

Any check engine light on?

Has the check engine light ever been on?

The 3.0 has a common TPS issue, but i'm not sure what the symptoms are, I just know they are probably the most frequently replaced item.

The EJ25 doesn't have the TPS issue.
