Foreste speedometer - miles vs Km/h

Featured Replies

hi,

my cluster (km/h- i'm in Canada) got broken and the only ones that will match the mileage are in US and are in miles.... now, if i'll replace mine whit one that counts miles, does my car will count kms or miles , what will be stored on the odometer?

thanks a lot!

dakos,

If you replace the speedometer head with one that reads in miles per hour, the odometer will read in miles as well, as they are both driven from the same mechanism.

I believe that Ontario law requires you to document the mileage of your old speedometer assembly at the time that is removed from the car, and that you document the mileage of the replacement speedometer at the time it is installed, and the information must stay with the car.
