July 18, 200916 yr 93 subaru loyale 1.8 ohc, with a/c. Haynes repair manual does not address a/c in way of water pump. Looks like I have to remove a/c pulley and a/c compressor to get to pump. Is there a flywheel access hole for removing pulley, and I understand there are some hard to get to bolts (hidden?) on compressor. It was 95 degrees yesterday in portland, so after discovering my dilemma I ran away to fight another day. P.S. I am new to USMB.
July 18, 200916 yr welcome aboard. no need to remove a/c to replace water pump. but if you wanted you can unbolt it and swing it out of the way without disconnecting any refrigerant lines.
July 18, 200916 yr Author Hey thanks Gary. I unbolted the compressor and swung it out of the way but still have to unbolt a/c pulley to remove T belt cover so I can get to pump. My new dilemma is how to hold pulley/flywheel while unbolting pulley. T-belt and oil seal & pump replaced 5k ago they are in good shape, unfortunately water pump went out!
