do you boys get jap import front cuts ?

Featured Replies

what sould I do with mineit has done 83 k how often do they change the oil ? over there it is very clean ( dip stick )

We get a lot of engines and some folks get what we call clips.

If you bought the front of a Japanese home market Subaru and you are wondering what to do to service it, just the usual stuff.

The engines and cars from Japan I have seen in Kiwi were quite well maintained.

We call 'em front cuts here too.. yeah, we can get them.. usually when we are after something thats not readily available here. If we are just after the motors, we buy crate motors ( no ECU, Wiring and such)

Just treat it like a fresh engine and you should be OK..

i wish to use the oem origanal ECU how come I can not find it on the web ,there has been lots of hits on my request but no has a diagram !

Perhaps if you were a little more specific about what you are proposing to undertake, someone could help you out..

What car do you have? what motor did it come with? what motor are you trying to put in its place? did you get the ECU and wiring with the new motor?

The front cut is from BG5A56E I think you boys call legacies we call them downunder liberties the engine type is EJ20DDAAJE

the car was a auto I would like to disconet that .I have every part of the car ECU ect .As far as I can tell the car is Post 93 ,I have looked around perth and not found one the same it must new from Jap ( Current shipment ) OBOII I was told .

I am wishing just the motor for now as on the ground then I will swap the motor over ( save time doing the wiring ) ? gee thats a joke !

If you can help that would be great ,I would like to make a stand alone wiring loam.

thanks neil

Is it possible the it is OBDII( not OB OII).. that refers to the On Board Diagnostics, Revision II.. which would make it 96(I think) or later.

Somewhere around here, I have some .PDF files of parts of 97 and later legacy and impreza FSM's.. perhaps there are some wiring diagrams in those.. I'll check..

What is the engine going in to?

To make a standalone harness, the best way i have seen to start would be to pull all the wiring starting at the front of the car and working your way back to the ECU, without cutting anything!!

Then seperate all the unnecessary stuff out..wires for lights, windscreen wipers.. stuff like that.. just keep pulling all non engine/ECU related wiring out of the mess until you are left with engine control stuff only.

ok Calebz dont get upset as I tell you what I am doing ,I puting this one in my trike ( bike ) I will email you a photo ,I have adapted this to a vw three speed full auto ,not sure if you get them over there ,any way I am subaru mad and the vw motors dont comply ( soon ) to our ADR rules ,so I wish to put this motor in. I have a number of projects over here in Ausssie land and this is just one of them.

I think this motor should be a blast in some thing that weighs 450kg what do you think ?

O I was going only what I was told in regards To the date mate ,and as for the wording OBOII as well thanks for setting me straight .
