So it got really cold here (-40) today. On the way to work I could smell gas coming in through the vents. Pulled car over and the lines from filter to injection rail are weaping fuel. Perhaps there was some water in the fuel and it froze causing lines to crack?

 

Anyone encounter this before? Funny thing is that the filter split on a similarly cold day 3 years ago.

 

So today at lunch in -40 degree weather I will drive to Napa and try and repair with new fuel line.

 

Brrrr.

just buy a length of fuel hose and replace that section. Rubber hoses do get brittle over time.
