okay... I got to ponder saturday during my EMT CPR class and I wondered if you have to change an EA82 tranny out to match up with the 2000 Outback wagon engine.

I heard a place in Canada will drop in the engine. but the question is do I need to put all wheel drive in.

Short answer.. yes

 

Long answer, you could design and build an adapter to mate the EJ motor with an EA tranny.

 

RallyJusty recently did this.. no word on his success/failures though.
