August 6, 200916 yr I just got the kit from smart service for MY 96 Outback. I cant seem to find way to put them together, the retainer snap ring is somehow different fit from original. Did they send me the wrong kit? Any advice?
August 6, 200916 yr IDK, I have had issues when using the quill kits too. Since the bearing is bigger to fit over the larger quill, the old style clips are a very tight fit. I have never seen that type of clip either.

August 8, 200916 yr Stretched the OEM clips to fit. Watch out though, they are brittle, I broke one trying this. would like to find a better solution
