August 7, 200916 yr Would a low battery make my 1999 Forester turn signals stop working. I have noticed slower cranking and starter seems to drag lately. It is 90 plus here most days. I think battery is about to go.
August 7, 200916 yr I have seen a number of things caused by a bad battery or alternator. Did you check the terminals on your battery to make sure they are not corroded over? That would be my first place to start. Try and find a date of manufacture on the battery, it would be better to replace it at home than sitting in a parking lot. While you are at it. Take your car to an auto parts store and have them check your charging system while the car is under load (lights on, inside blower, etc.)
August 7, 200916 yr Author Battery. Would not turn over this afternoon. Alternator is fine. Seven year old delco battery. I should return it HAHAHA.
August 7, 200916 yr I don't think replacing the battery is going to fix your turn signals. But do replace it. Explain what exactly you mean by "stop working". Do they light at all? Do they blink fast? Slow? Does the light illuminate but not blink?
August 8, 200916 yr Author They did nothing. No blink , click, illumination. ZERO. New battery and all is fine. Alternator putting out over 14 volts.
August 9, 200916 yr Did you by chance have the dash part? stereo installation? The reason I ask is because it's easy to leave the Hazard button unplugged during reassembly, which will make the turns not work.a
