2002 Subaru WRX dim headlamps..

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

This is my 1st Subaru, and my left head light died. So I bought some Sylvania 9004's and replaced both my bulbs. Now when I turn on my lights the dash shows my brights are on, but they're not. Then if I do hit the brights the lights go extremely dim. I then pulled the right bulb out, and the left bulb functions correctly, and vice versa. It's only when I put the second bulb in, that this happens. My lights were fine until now... I really don't want to take this into a shop and pay some over priced schmuck for what might be a simple fix. Any ideas??? :-\

Check the headlight fuses in the underhood fusebox. There is one for each headlight. Chances are, you will find one defective.

Also check and clean the battery and ground cables.

It was my fault, I bought the wrong bulbs... I got the 9004's but needed the 9007's. Everything is fine now. Thanks for you help though. :)
