Loss of power in third

Featured Replies

Hi everyone just a noob to this forum but having a ecl code coming up under w.o.t. seems fine through first and second gear then hit third and get up to about 140-150kph and it goes into limp mode.

any ideas would be a help cheers

Welcome to the forum.

Helpful ideas come more readily if helpful details are given first. Year, model, mileage, turbo or n/a, etc., please. Of course, the trouble code itself would also be useful, if you can have that read.

2000 blitzen B4 twin turbo 5 speed manual done 150ks all it seems to have done to it is full exhaust from turbos back, don't really know how to bring up error codes on it yet as fairly new to the subaru game, just had o2 sensor in exhaust maniflod replaced so far as it had 2 broken wires but still cutting out at 140 when under wot in third gear

I had a feeling the car was going to be something we don't see here in the States. (Am I correct that it's ''Palmy'', as in ''Palmerston North, NZ''?) With the TT, going into limp mode like that is probably specifically turbo-related, and not something many of us will likely to be able to help with. Hopefully someone from NZ, Oz, or elsewhere that Subaru ''lightening'' strikes will chime in. Perhaps send a PM (private message) to USMB member Log1call -- See http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/member.php?u=7647.

Do you have an EGT gauge? What's the boost gauge doing when this happens? If you have one, hook up a fuel pressure gauge and see what that does when this is happening.

Get that code checked and that will certainly help.

Hey thanks for that guys i'll see wot i can do just wondering if someone could help me with pulling the codes just a what to do would be nice

Most parts stores will check it for you for free.

There is some way to do it by connecting some plugs under the dash but I don't know how that's done. Try searching around here for how to get the codes I'm sure you'll find something.
