jhart21
Hoping somebody can help me. My security alarm seems to have slipped into "passive" mode and I have to use the overide button to get it to start. I changed the batteries in my remote and checked my fuses, to no avail. My manual says that I should be able to turn the key in the "on" position, push the overide button and have the alarm "re-set", but that's not happening. Is there any way I can fix this myself and not have to take it to a dealer? Thanks for your help!!
calebz
What year, what car? Is there a valet switch under the dash that has been switched on accidentally maybe?
jhart21
Sorry for not putting on the relevant information on the original thread. It's a '98 Outback. I've tried the valet button, but again, haven't had any luck.
legacy2.5
try reprograming the remotes, its it the supplement to the owners manual about your security system. i have had that before and reprograming the remotes fixed the problem.
