cross frame- question.

Hello NorthernWestern!

 i know that; EJ's motor mount seem cant fit on GL's cross frame.

 so, have to do drilling for hole? or have to take off the legacy cross frame swap to GL? or give me correctly advised.

 

**I could keep bother you guys for our project but i really like to make it for my goal.

That's where the interesting grammar comes from! Good to know.

 

At the most, you'll just have widen the holes in the crossmember slightly. Some people have theirs drop right in, others have to widen the holes a bit, and then the motor drops right in.

you will have to slot the holes on the gl frame, make them about 3 holes wide, so that the stud on the ej motor fits. the ej mount is just wider than the GL. this can be done with a grinder, or drilling a 2nd hole on the outsides of the existing holes and reaming out the middle.

This has never been nessecary for me with EA82 cars.

 

Had to slot once on an 81 model much smaller holes than the later ones. 

 

But all my swaps they just drop right in.

i used an xt6 frame with mine, slotting was necessary. i had to relocate the holes for the body side as well. 

i had to slot the motor mount holes pretty good.

For the ea82 crossmember it strictly depends on which style ej mount you have. There are some with and some without the nubs, without nubs no need to drill.

just grind the nubs off the ej mounts then they more or less drop right in.
