ronnieb
I am inquiring about suggestions for lifting a 2012 subaru outback. I live near the beach and clearance is important, as the car sits its is going to get bogged down due to trucks making the ruts and softening the sand. I am not intending to kill the car on the beach, just access good surf breaks. My thoughts are: what's the best bang for the buck on lifting and then going to largest most balloonest tires that can fit on a slightly bigger rim. Not looking to make a monster subaru, just enought to sneak by. All positive and negative suggestions are welcome.. Thanks...
idosubaru
there are off the shelf 2" lifts for 2000-2004 and maybe 2005-2009 generations. the fronts will be identical to yours. the rear I'm unsure about, have you done a search?
ronnieb
Thanks, just started to play with the idea. First time i peaked under the car, for this, is today, the rear, i think i can have a riser made for the lower end of the strut to mount into. Simple steel fabrication or if there is a prefab, makes life easier... I will investigate some more for the front any web sites to look at or pointing in a good direction, would be great.. Will do more research.... I have to say, as i never had a subaru and always had a truck, they have designed the underneath of the car amazing for clearance...
