99 legacy outback ej25 manual cylinder head torque settings

Recommended Posts

Hi guys I have just joined this forum I am new to Subaru world and have purchased a legacy outback 99 model, with the ej25 motor, all original, doesn't look like motor has ever been opened, so I have read up a lot about the hgasket problems and am busy currently doing both head gaskets????joy,

So here are some questions please if you can help it is appreciated.

What are the torque settings for cylinder heads?

Is there only one gasket available in the market from Subaru,? Is there any way to get the sixstar head gasket brand in South Africa? I have heard this is a better quality?

If it has a full service history and I do the heads every year or two, and change oil and. Antifreeze every 6 months, what life expectancy does this car have? 500k kms or where about does it just stop going? Does anyone know?

Any other advice or opinions would be appreciated on this subject also I'd you have the same car are there any other unique problems u should attend to with a scooby this old?

Thank you
