Dewing Posted March 20, 2017 Share Posted March 20, 2017 New member here. I went to change trans fluid (planetary) the other day and couldnt find anywhere to put the spin on filter i was sold. The casting was there but it hadnt been machined to accept the filter. My dealer's parts man said there was no filter. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? GeneralDisorder Posted March 21, 2017 Share Posted March 21, 2017 They don't need a filter. Subaru transmissions haven't had a filter for most of their production. Only from about 99 to 07 did the 4 speed auto have a filter. Funny enough the same trans behind the EZ30 6 cylinder didn't have the filter simply because there wasn't room for it. Not needed.
