We load it onto the back of my S-10 and he drives it home, with my Mom following in their 95 Legacy. Dad calls me a little while ago. "Yeah, the ride home didn't go very smoothly" he said. I was thinking the S-10 had blown up, because it's ready to. But no, they weren't a mile from the house. Mom was starting to turn right when she gets plowed into by a pickup. Mom has neck pain and headache. Subaru is demolished. Dad is freaked out. And I'm pissed off! %&$#!!! My Mom is 63, she doesn't need any injuries at this point in her life! And on a smaller scale, I loved that car. You could flog it so bad, and it begged for more. And I just resealed the entire front of the engine, changed the timing belt, fixed a loose harmonic balancer issue, and charged the damned A/C. My experiences with that car is the only reason I found this board, and the only reason i decided to put an EJ22 in a VW. OK, rant off. On the plus side, there is one almost exactly like theirs, sitting across the street for sale. Maybe when the dust settles, I'll tell them about it. So, should I buy this car back from insurance and offer the parts to you all for rock-bottom prices? It was flawless a couple hours ago. Nug Posted June 18, 2004 Author Share Posted June 18, 2004 She's not hurt, just hurtin'. Last word was that it was a fullsize truck, the other driver thinks he fell asleep. He never touched the brakes. The rear bumper is touching the back seat. The diff might be ok. The car was still running. Even today. Damn, that thing is tough. XT Fan Posted June 20, 2004 Share Posted June 20, 2004 That really does suck! I was rear-ended in my XT around the middle of May and I am still having problems with my back and neck. The lady that hit me did the same thing (fell asleep at the wheel). I still thank God that my Son and I were in a Subaru, any other car that size would have been an accordian. My little car was totalled too! I did buy it back at $110. Will be using parts to make another Sube run. I feel your pain with it being your Mother hurting and you're right she doesn't need this at her age! I have been seeing a Chiropractor 3 times a week since the accident and still will have a good and then a bad day. Problems sleeping and just doing all kinds of little things that I used to. I do hope she gets a good lawyer, because it will be a long time before she gets back to normal.
