So it's about 6 degrees outside right now. And my subaru is acting a bit different. For starters the tire pressure is fine. But the car really extremely shakes now on the highway at any speed above 55mph. I went to the car wash and blasted all the ice in my fenderwells out. Car ran smooth for the rest of the drive. Later on tonight when I got back on the highway same thing. I don't know what's up with that...any thoughts?

Second thing thats kinda bugging me. When I start the car now it wants to die right away. I had to start it 3 times this evening. Even after the engine has warmed up if I shut of the engine and come back to it a few seconds later it still dies right after start up. Is this normal for subarus in the cold? I've never had a car react like this from it just being really cold out. So I doubt it's the cold but figured I would post and see if anyone had some insight on this.

1) No it's not normal. I drive all winter long at temps often around -20C and do not have your symptoms.

2) The shaking might be caused by ice stuck to the inside of your wheels.

3) As for the starting problem, I dont have a clue.

Good luck!

Tires get very brittle when it is cold, maybe just a tire issue?

No subaru's run very well in the cold.

I would put a few bottles of heat in your tank, maybe have a bit of water in the lines?
