ABS codes website? Antilock brakes

Hi,

 

On my 2001 Forester, I found the black ABS connector above the brake pedal, I stuck the nearby black ground wire into the lower right hole, and I have read out the codes. What I need now is a website that describes what each code means. Does anyone know of a website I can go to to find this out? I believe my codes were: 23, 24, 27. Thx for any help. And thx to Porcupine for telling me how to get the codes using the connector.

For the codes you mentioned, see attached. I'd suggest checking the resistance of those wheel sensors; they're typically around 1.2-1.3 kohms.

There's lots of good info at The End Wrench site, http://endwrench.com/ . For ABS, in particular look at the archive of the August 2002 issue. These two articles from that issue should allow you to identify which system you have, and help find the self-diagnostic procedure:
