  1. My 92 has same type of problem took it to the mechanic it has code 34-35 which is purge control (emission garbage) I have not fixed mind yet I just run it.
  2. Had this same problem earlier this year here's what I had happen a vaccum hose came off.Now where to find this problem lift your hood and start up towards the firewall driverside find your fuel filter then go just up from there and look for some vaccum hoses or start the other way have someone in the car engaging your push button and listen underhood for the clicking noise it's under the spare tire there's a round canister that's got the vaccum hose trace it up and see if there's a crack or it just came off and rehook up see if this helps.

  4. Thanks Cougar you are the man,that switch on top didn't even come to mind as I keep thinking it's the 4 way flasher anyhow that was the ticket thanks again.

Just changed the heater core out in my Loyale so had a bunch of wires disconnected now I thought everything got hooked back up right but when I put the battery cable back on the running lights are on and the back tail lights. So now what did I connect something that shouldn't be connected or do I have sonmething crossed I'm not good with electrical so I'm thinking I hooked up one that shouldn't be plugged in maybe.Any help would be appretiated thanks Steve.
  6. Just seen on Ebay a Loyale performance chip do these things really work and boost the horse power like they claim or are they a boogus item that doesn't do what they claim.

Just got a 92 Loyale that has a oil gauge that goes from 0 to 80 lbs with 45 in the middle anyhow this is the first car for me with this gauge so I need to know if it's working right.Upon start up and driving the gauge is reading 45 lbs then seems to settle down to about 20-25 lbs but then while stopped at an idle the pressure drops to almost 0 maybe 2-3 lbs then when I accelerate the pressure goes back up to about 20-25 lbs is this normal or does this mean I have problems thanks Steve ( what should the pressure read )

I already did get her down to $1000.00 she was asking bluebook value of $1670.00 before the fender bender which took out headlight and bumper I told her to call insurance company and see if they would cut her a check and I'ld give her $1000. and fix the damage myself since I have aparts car already should be a easy fix.

I just found a 92 loyale wagon has 213,00 on the body but has a motor with only 79,000 miles is from Montana so they say no rust has power windows and locks also is a 5sp 4x4 she want's $1000.00 firm and I fix the head light that was in a fender bender is this a far price or not.   11. Milesfox I have and 86 4x4 wagon parts car with the drive shaft the only thing is the 86 has an automatic tranny and the 89 has a 5sp will it still interchange. Thanks Steve
  12. I have a 89 wagon that needs 1-2 U-joints changed. I called two parts stores and neither one lists this are my only oppotions the subaru dealer or can I find U-joints somewhere else. Thanks Steve
  13. yes it would be,there's a small metal thing in the fuel line but I don't know what to call it.I also put some stuff on it called SEAL ALL comes in a tube is gas and oil resistant seems to have done the job for now but I need to check and make sure the leak is stopped.
  14. I have a 89 wagon thats leaking gas underneath by a small round shape thing that's about the size of a big quarter,looks like some kind of diaphram or something.My question is do I need this or can it be eliminated to stop the leaking. Thanks Steve

Well I knew I'ld be asked this ? so here goes.No I didn't test mine as I don't know how to test them,but the reason I plan on changing it is this process of elimination.My old plug wires (that looked new) where leaking spark through them,so I bought aftermarket ones 15-18 bucks and the car misses worse so I take them back and get 30+ plug wires and guess what same thing both are leak electricity through wires so I go to subaru and pay 25 bucks car runs alittle better but when it's warmed up still misses.Car had new plugs in it but I put new ones in and also did the cap and rotor thing and that was all done the first wire change so now I'm doing what my mechanic buddy said and trying a new coil he said it could be going bad causing the stray voltage on wire thing unless someone can tell me for a fact what's wrong I have to go this route I guess. P.S. who's right on this internal or external 95%
  16. This is for the hardcore suby guys. I have a 89 DL wagon vin # JFZAN52BXKD410335 coil # isE12-116 12V also has a H on it. Now for my ? I'm looking to replace the coil but the local parts store comes up with 4 different coils and when he called the suby dealer they came up with 1 coil using the VIN # but the want 260.00 $$.So anyhow I need to know if mine has Internal resistor or does mine use external resistor,the parts store came up with a bosch coil for my wagon but it doesn't look like the one that came out.Mine also had a plastic cover over the coil to protect the 2 wires that connect to the coil has a special lip on coil for the plastic cover to stay in place.Anyhow if more info is needed let me know,or else thanks for helping me on this one.
  17. Are the timing belts from a 86 carbed EA82 the same as a 89 EA82 spfi motor. The reason I ask is if they are I plan on retrieving them from my parts car to use when the time comes as the one i looked at is in really great shape.Thanks
  18. Thanks guys the problem has been solved it was a vaccum line up by the fire wall that came off so the thing could'nt disengage now all is find
  19. I have a 89 DL wagon yesterday I had to lock into 4x4 (5sp w/push button ) and now it won't come out of 4x4 what do I look for or do Thanks.
  20. Just had my 89 DL looked at and it came up with code 35 is this something I live with or do I need to address the problem.Thanks Steve
  21. Who's double posting I'm asking a ? about price here and trying to track down more leads on the market post or is this not the right thing to do.
  22. Was wanting to know what would be a good price on a single range 4x4 5 sp tranny and what to look for as far as problems.I located one at a junk yard for $250.00 is this a good deal. Thanks Steve
  23. I just bought a 89 DL with a 5sp trans and now I found a 86 GL with a auto trans for parts. Will the front axles inter change with my 89 and will the rear end be the same as mine or will it have different gears.Also is the moter worth keeping as its carbed and my 89 is fuel injected.
  24. Now the fun begins.Will parts from a Gl wagon with and automatic trans work for me.I need splined rotor hub also will the axel shafts be the same as mine is a 5sp trans.I ask as I know where a car is sitting and would buy it for parts if these parts inter change thanks Steve
