  1. The guy selling them measured them and said that they are 5.5" across the hub. That sounds like it would fit. I wish I knew if some else has used them.
  2. I had a question, I searched, but all of the posts I came across only mentioned the 504 and 505 Puegeots. Does the 604 share the same wheel bolt pattern? Is the back spacing ok with these and an EA82?
  3. which plugs? The ECU end or the engine end?
  4. Well that would probably solve all issues. Cool.
  5. I see that now that the ECUs are different. Can I use an '88 wiring harness and ECU on to an 9/86 motor? Are those connection different?
  6. Will a wiring harness from an 87.5 or newer EA82T fit onto a 7/86 EA82T engine? How about the 6/86 ECU working with the 87.5 and newer wiring harness?
  7. I have a large Samoyed who in the past has gotten destructive like this. He only did it during thunderstorms. I learned quickly not to leave him unattended during storms. I put him in his crate so no longer damaged anything nor hurt himself. No idea what happened to him in his past that caused such a problem with storms. If the dog is left unattended and just tied up outside I am sure it gets bored just like you and I would. A dog should not be kept like that.
  8. Have you done your Loyale yet? I have a '92 that I recently purchased with high miles. I was going to convert to 5 speed. Picked up a dual range to put into it. Then I came across an '87 XT with a 1500 mile rebuilt engine in it for $50. So I am going to swap the XTs turbo engine in the Loyale. How much work is it to modify the XT's harness into the Loyale's? Is that even possible? What is the best harness for me to look for? Will a MFI harness work?
  9. I am looking to do a similar swap... but I would replace my '92 SPFI Loyale with an '87 Turbo MPFI from an XT. I was told that the wiring harness will be nightmare due to the digital dash issue.
  10. I was thinking of using a small lawn mower type mower turning a generator which recharges a battery pack. Then have the battery pack powering an electric motor. http://www.motherearthnews.com/Alternative_Energy/1979_July_August/An_Amazing_75_MPG_Hybrid_Electic_Car Just another option. Batteries and control might get expensive.
  11. Well this 9/86 XT that I bought for $50 has it. Does anyone want it and parts that it controls? The kid I bought it from took the air compressor pump, and the front air springs don't seem to hold air. There is another set in the trunk. Also looks like a set of rear air shocks. The rear on the car has springs. I am going to take the engine out and few other drivetrain parts... wish it had an LSD... and junking the rest.
  12. I think I will do the XT6 5 bolt conversion instead. I have a bunch of 6 bolt wheels from my Land Cruisers, but I think it will be ok with that pattern.
  13. Do you think the wiring harness that is in the XT I have will work fine? Should I worry about the fact that the XT has a digital dash and the Loyale does not? Also, how common is it to have an XT with a button on the bottom left that is for height?
  14. My Loyale is a SPFI. So the next thing I suppose I need to do is get a FSM for both a 9/86 XT and '92 Loyale so I can figure out the wiring harness differences. Anyone have the service manual with wiring harness diagrams for this years/models?
  15. Finally found what I was looking for Allied Armament.
  16. Well I am planning on running it with a 5 speed D/R. Any wiring harness hints?
  17. I thought I saw a company that sells lift kits had some 15" wheels that looked like the jackmans. They were in the US, but I have searched and searched and can not find their website. Anyone know who makes them? The Scorpions are not the right ones, but look close to them.
  18. The engine switch should be easy. I am just concern about the wiring harness difference between the '87 Turbo XT and the '92 NA Loyale. Obviously I want to put the turbo into the Loyale... who would want a turbo engine without hte turbo. Is the ECM for the XT in the trunk?
  19. I have a 1992 Subaru Loyale 4x4 that has a high mileage engine. I just picked up 1987 XT Turbo with a rebuilt engine for $50. The body is junk on the XT, so I figure I can put the fresh engine into the Loyale. What kind of problems can I expect with the wiring harness? Do I need to do anything special with the harness since the XT has a digital dash? Another thing, both are autos. The Loyale is a push button 3AT and the XT is a push button 4AT. I have a D/R 5 speed that I am putting in it. I was going to put the 5 speed in and replace the head gaskets on the Loyales engine. Now I will put it behind the turbo motor. Anyone have any suggestions for someone who has never worked on a Subaru? I have worked many vehicles, and down a few engine swaps, just never a fuel injection swap.
  20. My Loyale is a push button 3 speed auto. It is good to know that as long as I stick with a non turbo 5 speed front shafts are the same. It is U-Pull that I was planning on going to visit. I figure even if the transmission has up to 120k miles on it it should still be ok. I will obviously check it out before I buy it. I got the car cheap @$130, so I figure a little work like this is no big deal. Plus it should get better gas mileage than either my Land Rover or Land Cruiser. Or atleast one would think. Oh yeah the Stain Paul was a typo. I like St. Paul.
  21. I just purchased a 1992 Loyale with a 3 speed auto. I was in a local junkyard and there was another Loyale with a 5 speed push button and a 88 I believe with a 5 speed dual range. I have tried reading through all the postings, but I am still not sure what is needed for the swap. Reading I would assume the dual range is the way to go. Would it be good to buy the axle shafts? How about the rear driveshaft? I put a NV4500 into my Land Cruiser, but that seems a lot more straight forward. I just want to make sure that I grab everything I need while I am pulling stiff off. Anybody have a list of stuff that they would recommend I grab?
