subaru girl

my lenses are foggy looking and wanted to change them if i found some good ones.

do the lenses unclip or is it all one piece on a 90 legacy

i just went to look at one, the body looked perfect but under the front between the bumper and the engine was all rotted out. had the same problem on mine so check for rust. it seems like i see alot of them that are rotted in the rear fender wells to.

i just wanted to check because my other one shifts into first right away. thanks

90 legacy l 4wd and the fluid was just changed

if i stop and don't wait like 5 sec. it seems like the car starts out in second gear what could cause this

went to the soob dealer and got the parts 88 for pump and about 50 for belt. i droped it off at the local garage, it's to cold out for me to do it.

it is now leaking coolant. it's dripping and the bottom of the timing cover is wet. i'm sure it's the water pump thats leaking and making noise. i called the subie garage and they said over $200 labor and $200 for parts. advance auto price is $71 for pump and $29-55 for belt depending on brand. subaru genuine parts is $ 66 for pump and $43 for belt

if i took the crank pulley and the covers off. could i start the car without the alt. belt on? all i know right now is the noise is coming from the left side and the heat prob just started shortly after the noise started. if i put a breaker bar on the crank bolt and crank the car, where should i put the bar.

no, only if the defrost button is pressed i had it on vent what area is the water pump located . maybe the noise and this are related

coolant is full

i thought the belt was not to old because all the writing on top still looked good (not worn off). the noise is on the left side close to the cam. one more thing but i don't know if it's related or not, the last 2 times i drove it, the car was warmed up and throwing good heat but when i stopped the air got cold until i started going again. but after a while this will stop and it will have good heat.

it sounds like its coming from the left side. i pulled the end cover off and the belt looked good. whats on the left side that could make noise.

there is a rattleing/ draging/scraping type sound in the front of the motor. i almost thought it was those covers on the exhaust but it sounds like timing belt area. it has 218,000 on it and i don't know when the belt was changed before.

my fwd 90 has a little over 218,000 does not use or leak any oil

how much will it take to drain and refill.

90 legacy

i have 2 that are out of the car. is their any way to test them to see if they work.

90 legacy 4wd auto i just wanted to know if the walmart/auto parts store stuff would work or if it is a special stuff from the dealer.

is their a special kind or would any kind work.

i think there is a site that has them listed but i don't remember it. if you get a code let me know and i can look in my haynes manual.

their are 2 black plugs under the dash. plug them together and turn the key on. the light will flash you the codes. to get to it take the screws out of that panel under the steering wheel above your legs. look around they are there. count the number of flashes long and short.

it doesn't have turbo or thw wing. but other than that it looks about the same except for it being red

it has a tach. and it has auto trans with a button for 4wd on the side of the shifter.
