  1. I don't have a maf by the way,(i have a vaf) also the knock sensor is off a 90 xt same as the motor. Had to modify many things and mix and match 86 to 90 and 90 to 86 to make this motor work. Also what does a knock sensor have with me making more hp, as long as its tuned right it doesn't matter if it has more hp.
  2. BTW Rabin, the #'s we got on your gtech tonight are wrong, come out with me and my buddy tommorow night and i'll show you why. If we would have tested your car it probably would have shown 45hp at the wheels. Me and friend tested the car with his and the #'s are totaly different, i'm not going to say what they were. We will baseline his stock 97 z28 camaro, #'s were accurate for his car, then we'll do mine and and i'll show you what went wrong. talk to ya later.
  3. You will have to live with the digital pics of the gthech's on both of our cars for now. Gtech's are more than accurate and you know that. Rabin and me talked today and more than likely we will be doing our testing on wed after supper.
  4. Rabin you forgot that i'm running an fmic at the time, plus i was running ms103 vp racing fuel to get the 17psi. I only ran 17psi when i really want to play but 80% of the time i'm running 10-12psi and no more, and you know the car is quite fun right there. When we do go do the testing i'll put some 103 in it then we'll crank it up and go have some fun.I'll try to get ahold of ya either tues or wed maybe to go play. I got three of the 14" pugs on there and the one side looks good but (hint hint, you maybe have a fourth one for me to borrow till mine comes in). Going to go put a deposit on a nice big and loud blow off tommorow, haven't decided yet between greddy and turbosmart, but i'll figure that one out tommorow.   5. Would like a pair of ea82t heads, not cracked. Prefer gen 3 but will take anything and willing to pay a decent dollar also. Must be turbo heads.
  6. Well me and Rabin will be hooking up next week to compare our cars, as long as the weather gets better. We will be gtech'ing our cars and yes we'll post the numbers. so more soon.

  8. Why thank you Josh. As for proving the hp, in spring when the dyno gets done i want anybody who wants a copy of the dyno, to give me a fax # and i will send it to them right from the dyno shop. Then we can clear this thing up and be civil to each other, I don't like this arguing about whats what, but i do know for sure that this car will prove many people wrong. Truce?
  9. hey stoooopid do you realize that running the correct fuel that you can run more boost, read up on it moron. I started posting here because this was my first jap crap build and i wanted to share my findings. but the only thing i'm finding is quite a few, not all of you subaru guys are just a bunch of p.r.i.c.k.s that think they know everything in the world and can't understand when somebody does something that they can't do. At least with my car clubs and accociations with the hot rodder society we don't treat each other like crap, we help each other.
  10. 17psi and new gaskets, don't ask me why they blew but i'm not impressed. By the way i live in Saskatchewan.
  11. If you think my car has only 150hp think again. The motor has so much presure running through it now that yesterday the intake gaskets blew. The headgaskests are doing fine since they are copper, so i geuss the pressure had to escape somewhere. I'm going to get Paeco ind. to make me some copper gaskets for my intake now. If anybody even lives close to me or decides on coming near here for any trip i will give that person a ride in the car, then you guys might finally beleive that an ea82t can produce decent horsepower.
  12. I'll come up with your (evidence) in the spring. I'm just too busy with work for now, and yes i have had problems with my mounts, and exhaust bolts breaking. So far the axles are doing ok.
  13. Well you did still hit 141hp, thats still 21hp more than stock and you haven't really done much to the car. What kind of exhaust pipe and muffler are you running?
  14. WJM you should have at least 140hp but i think you should get a touch more. Also since yours is also a 86 block off all the overboost stuff, go buy a boost control valve and turn it up no higher than 12 psi without ic. But since your running 100 octane it should be safe anyway. When i run 103 vp racing unleaded fuel i can crank mine up to 17psi compared to 14-15psi with 93 octane. Plus the 103 has a nice smell to it and it makes your exhaust smell different so only a true racer will know what kind of fuel your running. Also get rid of that factory airbox and put on a decent flowing aircleaner, its a easy and cheap way to gain a few hp, not alot but every little thing helps. To REDRX good luck on your motor, hope you figure out whats wrong with it so you can have some fun with it.
  15. WJM i thought you were just going to throw the cams in then go hit the dyno. I was just trying to help ya save your motor. A before and after dyno will be interesting though.
  16. I already said that the oil cooler doesn't produce hp its only there to keep the temp down. I still have an ic, though not as good as my other one but i can still run 15psi. The overboost stuff is blocked off and nonfunctional. The previous dyno is a f-up so thats why i'm taking the car 250miles back to my hometown in the spring to get it dyno'd at i shop i know and trust.
  17. Now there is one and i'm not even close to being done this car yet. More mods and fun to come.
  18. I know Paeco is a bit more but they do very nice work. Also WJM break in your motor before you test it, you don't want to blow it up the first day. Also the reading will be lower since everything won't be broken in. I had to reset my timing and idle 6 times while everything was breaking in, so i would hold off on the dyno until you have at least a few miles on your car. Jonofscio my mileage has gone down but it could mostly be my heavy foot, i still usually get about 20mpg in the city and on the highway at least 28mpg, and this is at 15psi. I do drive the car almost every day. One thing about these cams they hit at the same time the turbo does,eg. i'll put my foot at about 1/4 throttle and keep it there and the car will accelerate normally till it hits the 3500rpm range then the cams and turbo wake up and give you a kick in the head and i don't move my foot at all. I have showed quite a few of my muscle car buddies this and even they are impressed at the hit this little car gives. They find it kind of funny something so small can give a nice acceleration hit like a good old muscle car.
  19. Oh yeah one more thing, with the new cams and titanium stuff the rpm band sure rose. Shifting at 7200rpm is no problem and i haven't expierianced fuel cut or anything and i have taken it as high as 8000rpm by accident a couple of times since the little sucker revs so fast. The power band seems real strong in the 3500-7000rpm range. Way higher than it used to be.
  20. All the plumbing for my front mount cooler are sitting on my shelf in my garage, its rather easy to take on and off. I just used pvc and intercooler hose so its easy to take off in times like when it has to get fixed. The one on there is basicly set up the same way but the ends were different so i didn't mount it in the same place as the other. Now here are my exact cam specs, intake-opens 30 closes 70 lift 336, exhaust-opens 70 closes 30 lift 336. The idle is kind of eratic, i don't know whether its the cams or the injectors causing this, but it doesn't matter beacause it doesn't effect performance whatsoever.These cams are built to my specs and if you don't have what i have, your engine won't perform or run correctly. This car is just an experiment for me since i have never done an import before. The hp will only rise from here cause this is not enough for me, i have been toying with the idea of adding a second turbo instead of a bigger one, kind of like the way they set up the sequetial turbo's on the mid 90's twin turbo supra's. But i will more than likely modify a bigger turbo onto the car instead, we'll see which one is easier when i get there.
  21. here are some pics of the engine and stuff, gotta get a better digital camera the pics are kinda blury. My front mount intercooler is getting fixed because of a nice stone, but i did micky mouse my old one in there for now. As for the wing it makes the ricers want to race more so i get to have more fun plus it does kind of look cool.
  22. tazzo pic, this is the best i could do today because the tazzo works while the car is under load and i kept getting wheelspin which causes lower hp but not much, and this is WHP. On a dyno machine i won't be getting wheelspin nor will i have windresitance from driving so the dyno results should be the same but more likely higher. I don't expect hp from the oil cooler i just expect it to keep my engine temp low, and my cooler weighs maybe 3 pounds with the lines,filter, and cooler itself.
