  1. my car burns a ton of oil but i drive a paper route about 110 miles a day so i dont know
  2. I was wondering why my oil pressure is so low lately. When i bought the 87 gl wagon the pressure would start out at about 75 while it warms up and a little lower than 45 when warm. but now it warms up at 35 and idles at 10 i dont know if this is signs she is about to kick or if i need a new oil pump or what cause im about to go on a road trip and i dont want to get stuck somewhere

  5. there is no excess of oil just a little black that comes off on my finger so i dont think its near the main pulley on the timing belt so any other clues
  6. i have recently purchased a condensator but it is meant for a engine with displacement of 140 or more and mine is 109 will it still work....and on a lighter note wheres the pcv and intake manifold located
  7. all i know is that the leak is directly above the oil filter its been leaking down on top of it, i replaced the filter to make sure it wasnt that but there is still oil all over
  8. uh oh.....i got an oil leak right above my oil filter....i have no idea how to fix an oil leak or even where to start....does this mean my engine is done for?....should i have a pro do it, which i really dont want? any info would help
  9. alright heres the deal... someone told me, a prof. mechanic, that i need a new "donut gasket" the thing that connects the the exhaust from the engine to the muffler right under the drivers seat. i have no clue how to do this and im not letting anyone else do it so.... anyone done this before?

  14. i found a cheap turbocharger for my 87 gl hatchback but is it worth the trouble to put in
  15. i cant seem to depress my piston far enough to fit my new brakes around the rotor in my 87 gl wagon i was wondering if theres anything i could do to fix this
  16. i think that my oil pressure has been a little low lately....i was wondering what the oil pressure is supposed to be when your at a sitting position cause mine is like almost zero then when i move it goes up a little above 45 so what do ya think guyus
  17. what are all teh little accesories available on the subaru....you know all teh little bumps that you know are supposed to be something but you got the cheaper version....and all the buttons that are blank on the dash.......just a little curious
  18. ummmmm.....it just dies or you try to drive and it dies? oh and what to do with that gl '87 ( you should give it to me) *cough*
  19. until recently my car would not idle right i had to keep my foot on the gas at stop signs and what not.....this was very tough seen as how i dont have a starter *cough* and i would have to push start it in an intersection if i did.....but i fidled with the vacuum tubes around the carburator and i guess i got the one with the leak so definately try to make sure there is no vacuum leak. Oh and if your car has no trouble making it up hills then it is not the fuel filter.
  20. thanx for the info....its a 1987 gl hatchback.... ive had two starters just stop working i threw the original away(probably prematurely) and replaced it with a rebuilt denso, which went out a week later, from a 91 loyale .....the car will not stay idle at all, the engine will only stay running if it is in gear or my foot is on the gas, so i kinda shift to neutral and brake with my left foot at stopsigns and since i have no starter lol imagine letting it die....
