  1. no there cooper trendsetters(gayest name ever lol) they have deep tread but no side lugs at all, so turning sucks but yea i was suprised to . got some hakka 2 for the teg but i cant afford any for the subby ..
  2. well after getting the wagon ready (new brakes all around) i came out to 3feet of snow , and one stuck wife (no time for snows for her integra yet ) well needless to say that her parents road is unplowed at this point and there driveway is a 1/4 mile long . so im there by my self aand just plowed through snow past the bumper and i find her car . i put the integra in neutral and attact the tow strap . lol the subby with all season pulled that thing out like it was nothign . i was truly amazed. i dont think ill ever go a winter with out one of these cars again . oh and gas milage suck rump roast . lol but i was having fun , i find a soon as i put it to the floor in the slippery stuff the gas goes fastr then any car ive seen .
  3. ive though about the 5 spped swap but to be honest its a winter car that ill hang on to ill just have to live with it lol whats involved with the 5 speed swap besides the obvious clutch assy tranny ect
  4. hmm good call . i had ks probs on my honda but i do all my own engine management was was able to disengauge it in the ecu itself ., and i do have a bunch of loose heat shields are they really senstive
  5. i wasnt really going to get into power mods but dam this thing is slow lol (any tips to make the auto a bot more responsive ) ive fabbed up all my own mods for my honda (including custom made individual throttle boddies) but is there much sence in doing some exaust and intake work . how do these cars react to these mods , and is it worth my time . ill probly pass on the exaust since its auto and i dont like the sound and auto makes with a fart can on it . i guess my biggest problem is im used to my summer car and the throttle responce it has . the legacy feels kinda weak and mabye this is due to the tranny , i dont really now . but over all speed is not what im after , but reasponce wouldbe great .
  6. those look nise , i wanted the 1000 but didnt have the money for 4 of them . my bracket is very simalair but i kept the bar going into the grille as short as possible to minimize shaking . mine is only about 4 inches long ill get some more pics today
  7. makes a big difference , ive had lots of cheap fog lights in my life and all they ever did was put out some much glare they were useless in a snow storm , i can tell already these a good quality since i tune them all on and visiosn improves lol the driving light a wish were a bit of a wider beam but that why i went with te fogs for up close the poor headlights dont even look like there on
  8. theres nothing at the front of the car stable enough to mount them to , but the bracket i made was pretty easy to do but like anythign it needs some fabbign
  9. yea there very stable they dont even shake much the bracket goes under the grille and attatches to the top of the inner bumper (there was some metal in there ) i made the bar and all that pretty simple stuff but it was time consuning, took about 5 hours from start to finsih but im very happy with the way it turned out i can post a how to if some people want (im a big diy guy on the honda forums ) i never have much money so i construtc alot of things

  11. well i have pretty harsh winters up here in canada . and i really enjoy driving in them lol . and to celebrate my first subaru for the winter it got some goodies out side are hella 500 driing lights and the inners are hella 500 fogs , they work pretty good but need to be aimed a bit more .
  12. well just a quick update , axel swap went good and took about an hour to do . car runs great and im very suprised how smooth these cars are .noe it just needs to be a bit faster lol thanks for all the help
  13. thanks guys it all makes sence . i just was under the impression that it was a 60 40 split all the time ( as the local dealer explained to me lol the dink ) and you right that over 50mph i don ttecnically need it bu what if i hit a big snow drift while on the hiway . but ive been fine in fwd so the awd will be a bonus . i know how differentials work , im just new on the way subaru does there systems as there is many different ways to do it . thanks for the replies ,
  14. yes i understand that and i can tell by driving it it only has limitied power to the rear . but it completly shuts off . much like the crv . over 80kmh the rears are of no use .
  15. as some of you know i have a broken front axel . the back drive it fine (i had to drive it 5 min to the shop ) and once i hit about 40 to 50 mph the rears would shut of and the front axel of course just spins and the speedo goes up thisis not how i though subaru did there systems . if it shuts of completly after that speed its kinda useless for me as a awd system . unless theres somthign missing and im putting the new axel in tonight so do we know exactly how the awd system work in a 95 2.2 auto awd thanks guys
  16. yea , i took the advice and rounded up a trialer. its home now , however i did just cut the inner boot and pulled the axel out the front (its hard to move it andthe axel might bind up).
  17. lol , i offered the 500 thinking it would really need a tranny (front diff) so i planed on another 1000- to get the car up to par . then i looked under it to see the axel floping around i just wish it was a 5 speed , but im not complaining ,
  18. here it is , its my first subaru but ive wanted one for a long time . it was complet luck i found it and at the price i did . 95 subaru L 101 000 miles on it , clean interior and other wise clean car . hatch seems to be pretty rusty but i can live with that all in all best deal ive ever got in my life , 500 dollars canadian was all it took (i thought the front diff was toast but it turns out to be a broken axel. heres some pics 2 small rust tspots on each rear fender . needs axel 2 strut bearings brakes al the way around and exaust work. im sure theres more to it , but im expecting suprises just due to the price i paid .
  19. got a trailer for tomorrow . dont want to risk it ill post some pics of it tomorrow and see if i got a good deal or not
  20. ok i went to look at this car to buy , they siad it had no awd. upon driving it (i drove normal) but when i turned around on gravel the back tires were slipping and the onts werent doing anything . after i turned around (this is when the boot popped off the axel(hub side) ) the noise it made sounded liek it was time for a tranny . but after checking under the car i could see the axel was just hangin there .(this explains the lack of fwd ) so what i was going to do was cut off the boot on the inner cv and pull the axel out (leaving the splined part in the tranny so the fluid wouldnt leak out )and drive it home
  21. totally broke just after the outer joint . thanks why the awd wasnt working and when the boot came off it was making nasty noises . so the broken axel spins at the same speed as the rest it just drive off the the rear
