  1. I have had this car a little over a week & nothing but tranny problems. I had the duty solenoid c replaced yesterday. They said my clutch pack was fine & they also replaced two screwed tranny mounts. Drive it home & after it gets warm it starts the torque bind. I do the little turning in tight circles thing the mechanic told me with no changes. I have checked balance on tires(same brand & model), changed the differencial fluids, inflated tires to 35psi all to no avail. Later when I drove the car is poped a code 24 again. What do I have to do to get this car to drive right? HELP!!!
  2. OK. Last questions. My duty solenoid is bad. After I get the extension housing off, can I change the solenoid without anymore dis-assembly? Do I have to remove the clutch pack to get the solenoid out? Thanks.
  3. I will check fro continuity from TCU harness to the soenoid if I can find the connector at the tranny. Also, is there anyway to know if the clutch packs are bad while I have the extension housing off?
  4. Josh, Bad torque bind. Installing the fuse helps a little but when I check the duty solenoid I get a open. From what I can find that will put the AWD into 50/50 regardless of the fuse. I have already checked tires & changed all the fluids. Anything I might have overlooked? Thanks.
  5. Frag, Thanks. That is what I found after doing some searching on google. Thanks again.
  6. Suzam, I found somewhere that a 1/2" drive will fit. Also, I always take the fill plug out first. Thanks for the info.
  7. HELP! What is the size of the sqaure recess in the differential drain/fill plug of my 92 Legacy. It seems to be about 5/8" across. That's about 15.8MM. Also is the front diff the same wrench? Want to change fluids today. Thanks.
  8. Hi all, Can you replace the duty solenoid c without removing the tranny tail housing? I am getting a code 24 with is the solenoid. Tomorrow I am going to get under the car & check the solenoid. I would like to know so I can buy the gasket while at the dealer getting the solenoid. Thanks.
  9. Thanks guys. I changed my tranny fluid with Dexron III today. It did not help my torque bind but it is cleaner. Pat
  10. The owners manual says Dexron II for my 92 Legacy's automatic trans. Is Dexron III/Mercon a acceptable fluid? I have 5 bottles left over from my 87 GL's tranny change & am wondering if I can use it. Thanks. Pat Callaghan 92 Legacy AWD Wagon
