  1. ok so are are sube 5 lug patterns the same so if i was going to swap from the legacy wouldnt i run in to issues wih the struts or are they the same size ? again thanx for the help
  2. so whats is a good price to pay for all the donor partsfor the ej22 swap? and the lug pattern on my dl is a little lacking in variety as far a rim chioce i heard about a couple of transplants whats a good donor car for that?

  5. i have an 88 dl 1.8 i was recently on a road trip just replaced my timing belts and i noticed that when i shift at high rpm a lttle black smoke shoots out the pipe doesnt happen all the time just on the long drive seems fine now second mystery it a little stall deal . i was driving and my car was losing a little power i was going 85 then to 55 rather fast i put it in neutral reved then back in gear and it started to sputter like a fouled plug and after a minute it was back to normal i was guessing maybe water in my gas line? or maybe in the intake?
  6. ok info i have a 88 dl 1.8 ltr 5 speed 4wd i guess adding the turbo isnt worth the gain so where do i go to learn more about the 2.2 ltr swap that engine is the mid 90s impreza outback sport? right so what do i need to swap every thing but the body huh? thanx for the help guys
  7. so if the subaru is a unit body how can i lift the body ? this is proving more and more difficult
  8. if you are doing a lot of elivation chage when you stop a small amout of coolent will boil off as your car depressurizes the cooling sysstem check if your coolent is low (coolent has a verey distictive smell)if you coolent is fine i would go with the whole oil on the down pipes deal good luck -luke
  9. i have been thinking about giving my subie a little height a 4 inch suspension lift and a 3 inch body lift so is this a little to tall i was thinking of rollover posibility and it might be a little to much does anyone have a lift or ideas or know any problems i might face putting that on a 88 dl wagon thanks guys -luke ok so im now unclear people have been telling a whole aray of why i can and cant do so let me rephrase my question #1 is the 88 dl wagon a unit bodys #travel clearance issues with the 4 inch cant i drop pumpkin and engine? new problem the lug pattern as far as i can tell ya get get tight wheels for a lifted subi unless you change the pattern....correct #3whats a good lug pattern to go to how easy is it?
  10. havent takin a pic yet but and 88dl spfi hose should match up with the carb then find an afer market air filter (bomz racing is good and cheep and matches up with the inlit nicely good luck peace
  11. dude i just blew 25 buck on the +4s and the cat was giving me a little crap so i removed it (I dont have to pass iem scince i live out of city limets yeah i would like a 2.2 how lond did that take ?
  12. yeah i live on the top of mt ashland and thre is a major mountan pass there i can hit 115 on the flats but the mountan is a litle harder to concour yeah my drestibuter is in the baqck and my car is 4 door .is there a mpfi for this moddle i heard from a freind of mine that he had saw one on byb.com? thanx for the help luke
  13. so at 9.5:1 shouldnt i be running at least pluss gas? and is there any way to ell just from looking at the engine what it is becuse the guy i bought it from had a new engine put into it and it kinda janky most of my stock harness isn't hooked up its just haning in the engine compartment thanks for your help
  14. yeah its a hatch back and its single port fuel injection and i realize its not going to rally but i would like it to do 65 is it a 1.8 ? and if i put a new motor in it i would have to replace my entire electical right? so tell me about the mods thanx for the help luke
  15. i have an 88 dl and i need to pump up the horse power im a fairly good mechanic and i have done the whole cold air short ram and a new hi flow mass air unit sensor but i need more and im not to familier with the boxer engine i want to rais the compresion but i dont know where to find high compretion pistons and about shaving the heads / clearance issue or mabey do a whole new transplant if any one could tell me how to do this and / or the trouble it might cause or has any other ideas that would rock thanx o i think my engine is the ea81 but im not shure would the 88 gl tubo fit my car ?
