  1. I bet the PCV system is clogged up.

The vac system on these engines are supposed to be tight/closed, it will effect the idle when you open part of the system (oil cap).

    :picard:

Hey Rob.... hows it going.... no doubt that you are an EA82 expert:)

What do you suggest? can you tell me were the pcv valve is? and is there anyother components to service??

p.s. ive been wanting to ask you for a year +, can you tell me were the boost sensor(switch?) is were it turns from pressure to wire....... works every 400th boost or so for a minute:confused:,.......Im sure its a corrosion issue... thnx bro

I realize that you question was" what have you guys done",

I only have done this on my 2wd toyota Ivan Stuart clone that I built, sold.

    I like Downeys idea.

when it rotates on the same axis, there is no bind, and no rearward-frontward wheel movement. Its alot stronger to trail this link than to have it lead. cant bend it...........It seems way overkill for what were dealing with on our subes, but its a solution,,,,,,,,,,,,,

and with you being one,if not the best fabricator on the usmb, should be a breeze with that awsome jig you have in your shop.

  3. WOW, man "move that bus" is right:slobber:

Your stenciling is awsome, youve enspired my plan on repairing my faded clearcoat on ROXY. I love "CAMOCLAD"by 3M, but why spend the bread when we can grab a great idea and some ultra flat colors and make a fun family project.

The rest of that beauty is awsome!!!!! VERY NICE POST:slobber::slobber::slobber::slobber::slobber:

  4. Im not sure if this will help,

my friend put xt seats in his 85 brat, they only bolted in the stock holes in 2 spots, and he drilled holes into a pieces of flat stock mild steel, and it moved the bolt holes over 2 inches.

If you do this use strong material, good bolts to keep it safe.

Its only a mounting point. you can make alot of thing work by bending the rules a bit.

But dont ever compromise on safety.

    Good luck,

  5. I am needing to replace my rear wheel bearings (1985 RX) and I remember

in the past that I was told that there is a special socket needed to remove the inner piece (nut)? that holds the bearing in the trailing arm?

Ive done the fronts a few times(basic) on other Sube's,

Ive yet to do any rears, I already have the bearings/seals,and am ready to change these, when I get home.

does anyone have any pics of the stub in the trailing arm with the drive axle removed??????? or pics/info on the tool?????? or pics of the replacement?????????

    Thanx.

  6. I'd be ok with it if its in good condition. If the price is right and its an actual black RX, yes, yes I'd like to have it. I'd put my drivetrain into it and get rid of the EA82T.

As far as I know though, there weren't any numberings on them. My old black RX didn't have anything except the regular RX stickers.

Russ, now I remenber your old thread in Laramie Wy, when you found your black 89.

mcgus1 has access to the car, and we should be able to get pics, more info. Pics say 100 words, Ill call him now and try to get him to post some,,,,,,,,,, WEIRD,,,,,,,,,,,

  7. I could probably do a EA82T swap - twice - in the time it takes me to do a tranny swap.

With the right tools, it can be cake.

Lift, concrete floor, jacks, air tools, etc.

It general, it takes me all day if I'm doing it by myself.

Thanks Rob, yea but you have those EA82t were you could do it blindfolded.

CobCob,and I are planning the 3.9 swap soon on ROXY. The right tools, are a huge factor.........

  8.

hey Mick,I would love to come up there but need to check time off closer to the date. I recently bought an 88 Pace Arrow 32 ft, it would be a blast

Man those wheels are beautifull, and look great on the brat..........

on the wheels, Thanks for that good close up, I can see (in ms paint) enlarged the pattern of clearcoat ware on the spoke to the left of the valve stem, and tonight,I will examine them each for the patters in the pics.

both sets are from the east coast.

Who owened the maroon wagon? before BROWN_MUSCLE???????

There was a thread were the member painted the interior red/black,,, looked good. anyone remember???

    Ill do some searching. thanks
