  1. :Flame:cv boots are the most problem i have!

Where do you guys get your parts for axle or boot replacement? I'm finding it very hard to locate the proper parts, even the local Subaru dealership said they would have to order a boot for my 88 GL. The local NAPA store says they have one for a 1988 1800, would that work?

Also, can someone give me the dimensions for the special tool (washer?) that is needed to reinstall the axle in the steering knuckle? I'd rather make one than have to purchase one if possible.

    Thanks

  2. I have an "84 GL Wagon 4x4 that I just got the 14 Pug Wheels for and my question is what the tallest size tire i can use without the lift... I don't mind cutting and trimming fenders and what not... thanks!!

I had put the wildcat 27" on before my lift and only cut below the front bumper, after the lift i put on the 27x8.50 mudders and only had to take out the inner finder well, and hammer the body on the inside of wheel well a little bit. Chaeck my pics link below to see. good luck :headbang:

  3. A big high 5 to garner!! :headbang: He answered back to our thread for a tranny swap the same day it was posted, and i was able to drive to go and pick it up 2 days later. When 75skunkaro and I arrived at his pad, we were greeted with a hand shake, and a Black Butte Porter :drunk: O' how i love the dark beers!! It's nice to know that we have a nother contact now up north, not just for parts but also for some good beer! The wagon is back on the road and running strong. A little clutch adjusting and should be perfect. Thanks again. Looking forward to hanging out when we get more time.

With the Mods involved in the d/r conversion, including driveline shorting i would rather do the s/r replacement, due to $ shortage :banghead: !! That d/r i was given is perfect, would you be interested in swap :brow: If so i would be able to come form Medford get it today orThursday? Let me know. Also the flywheel would be the one for ea71 with side mount starter. FYI That would be a life saver

    Thanks -Sean
