  1. I own 2 wagons, 1998 92000.miles and 2001 104000 miles Ouback. I would like to purchase a 3rd vehicle to replace a Ford Taurus wagon. My Ford has a 171,000 miles. My concern is the recent HG problems Subaru has been facing. Audi makes the A3 wagon awd. I think Volvo makes a small wagon awd. would like to save some money and purcahse a used Subaru. I like the WRX hatcback but it is small. I guess I could put the tule on top to get my son to college. My thoughts are The H6 wagon or did Subaru fix the problms with the HG's in the 2004 model years. Is the turbo engine in the forester or legacy diiferent then the regular 2.5. Are the Honda crv or Toyota Rav 4 better vehicles the te Subaru. Teh CRV seems very light and not as solid as a Subaru.
  2. I own 2 outbacks legacy wagons. I am thinking about a 3rd subaru maybe a wrx. What are the best years for Subaru. I would like to avoid a model year with HG problems. Are the WRX models reliable.
  3. I own a 1998 outback wagon in good condition. Purchased with 72000 milw now have 92000 miles did the 90000 mile service and water pump at a local mechanic after subaru indicated I had Oil leaks that my local mechanic said I need not be concerned about. However I am worried about Hg problems. Should this be a worry. I am also looking for a Subaru mechanic in Fairfield county ct or in New Haven. My most honest mechanic has left his business. He was too honest. Are the newer Subarus better what years are the best?
  4. I own a 1998 outback. I purchased the car for my son with 72000 miles. The car has been trouble free. I had the 90000 mile service performed and replaced the timing belt and water pump. I had the work done and a local mechanic after subaru told me I had an oil leak in my head gasket and main seal. I then brought my car to a local mechanic who told me that there was no concern in regards to oil leaks. He Suggested that I simply perform the 90000 mile service and replace the timing belt and water pump. However my main concern is HG problems in the future. I like the car but are the HGs going to fail sooner then lets say a Honda crv or Ford escape. I also need to find a new mechanic in fairfield county Connecticut or New Haven. My old local mechanic has left is business and the new local mechanic is almost as expensive as a dealership. Are the new subarus from 2004 on any better in regards to HG promlems
