oh yea and i do have a little rust in the passenger side door frame.

my dad and i replaced both the primary and secondary ones and it seemed to run fine, but the only way we will know for sure is if it does it again tomorrow. thanks guys for all the help

where are the primary and secondary filters located? we replaced the one in the engine compartment

Hey guys. My 83 brat is sorta having problems as of right now. I start it up and drive it round for a bit and all of the sudden, it loses power and it sputters no matter how much i press the accelerator. i dont know whats the problem. first subie so i dont know too much about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hey guys i noticed something on my 84 subaru brat (supposedly GL). The bar connected to the trans wasnt connected, and after connecting it to the place where i thought it connected to, i took it for a test drive and it didnt have dual range no matter how hard i tried. After studying the tranny and where the 4wd shift lever is supposed to connect to and it felt completly different than the trans off of the subaru gl in the wrecking yard. So do u think that my trans got swapped off of a DL? (i did check the haynes manual, but i would like to ask some one with first hand knowledge) thanks for helping

hey guys, i just got an 84 subaru brat and the 4wd lever isnt working. i looked under the car where the lever bar goes to and its not connected to anything. i was wondering if anyone could help me figure out where it connects to. thanks:confused: -allen
