  1. I would think you could bolt in a STI 2.5 turbo motor... hehe, that would be soo much fun I might even last 5mins in it...

     

    It only makes sense to run a Baja in the Baja.. Weird...

  2. okay, update. not sure why but in the rain these new bulbs (ricer if you wish) are a huge improvement over standard...

     

    lenses are clean but this seems to be my first car that has reflector (?) lenses. all of my other lenses have been perfectly clear so i'm thinking that the problem might be that i'm not used to this style of lens.

     

    mild corrosion on battery but no where else, will have to wait until warmer weather before i clean that out though...unless it gets worse.

     

    as for the lights not being made for high wattage bulbs i will switch them back and see if there's a difference

  3. i have an 87 gl and when i baught the car from the origanal owner (now a widower) i was amazed how great of a condition the car was in.

     

    the night that i brought the car home i emediatly took the car out for a 300km run from victoria to nanimo and back again, the headlights suck!!!

     

    i replaced the bulbs with ge 65/55w but they still were inadaquite. i replaced them with some off road only 100/80w wich were equilly bad. i took them to my dad who adjusted the headlights down quit a bit and that helped but its still dissapointing.

     

    which brings me to my question...if the 65/55s and the 100/80s were almost the same in light efectiveness do i have a power suply or relay problem, my volt meter on the dash shows no issues what did i do wrong?

  4. turns out i wasn't pushing it far enough to engage the low range. by the way the transfer case has been used so little (7 times in 20 years (she actually recorded dates for her records) :confused: that the shifting in the trasfer case is seamless, absolutely seamless. sht i think i got a good deal on this car

  5. after replacing my tires i decided to try the 4wd, it had never been used more then once by the original owner...

     

    when i put it in 4 low the 4low light flashed, didn't stop flashing or stay on. when i accelerated it seemed very much like normal gear ratios. when when i was decelerating the 4low light went out completely...is this normal?

     

    i haven't had time to ask my dad (mechanic at Subaru) any help would be appreciated

  6. i have a 4 door sedan...with a 5 speed, everything is like new right now so i'm trying to decide how deep i want to get into this. right now i have a nissan pulsar/exa prodject on the go so i'm also trying to decide if i want to sell that and put money into this.

     

    like i said the car is like new so i'm not yet sure that a mud hole is the way i want to go just yet btw it has 200 000km and 85% was highway

  7. so this is my first post...the search was a little confusing so here goes.

     

    i have a 87 carbed gl, not sure the displacement yet but it is defiantly carbed. is there any cheap way to get power out of the engine.

     

    my car is a...well i'm the second owner, it was owned by a nice old lady who kept ontop of all repairs and stored the car in the garage. interestingly the car has the two speed transfer case (hi-low) plus an upgraded subaru stereo (tape with equalizer, doesn't work so well anymore though)

     

    anyways my dad works at a subaru dealership but no one that i've seen has any experience with modding this car or any soobby of this year...
