  1. Like 3 out of 10 cars in the Colorado mountains (i made that number up, but it can't be too far from the truth!), the front windshield on my Impreza is seriously cracked. It's technically illegal but cops dont care because it's unavoidable here. I'm moving across the country in a couple months - question is: should I (A) wait to replace it on the East Coast and risk getting a ticket on my 2000 mile drive or ( replace it before I drive across the country but risk a rock flying at it during 2,000 miles of highway driving?
  2. The only complaint i've heard about these tires is they make a lot of sound - I see reviews like "these are great tires but i have to play my music loud when i'm driving". I am definitely leaning towards these - what are your thoughts on this topic? thanks!
  3. Subaru dude - do you have the Assurance TripleTred, Assurance ComforTred, or the Assurance Fuel Max? Thanks!
  4. Who said anything about $49 tires? I'd buy experimental tires from NASA for $200 a pop if i thought they'd do the job.
  5. Hi all, i've got a 2001 Subaru Impreza sport wagon, standard transmission. I'm really not happy with the last set of tires i got (Walmart), so i figured i'd come on here and ask what tires would be best. i'm set to put the new tires on and drive across the country. Once I get to said destination, I'm in for a long snowy winter. I'd like fuel efficiency for my cross country trip, good handling in rain and snow too, and would really like to get away with not buying a separate set of snow tires come winter. I want one good set of tires - any suggestions? thanks!
  6. Hi folks, I am new to the board and have a question. Please let me know if the question is in the wrong spot. All automatic Subarus have a fuse under the hood so you can take the car out of all wheel drive and put them into just front wheel drive. This is added (as far as i can tell) to allow the car to be safely towed -- which is why standard transmission vehicles don't have it. I want to know if it is safe to put my impreza in 2 wheel drive during the summer months to save on gas mileage, and if it is safe, i want to know how much it might save as far as gas mileage goes. any input is much appreciated.
