  1. Ubaroo: I havent done any offraoding yet, my car has been stock since i got it. i live in colorado so i have many options when it comes to offroading.

GD: but if i can get the turbo engine for near nothing it will give me at least a little more something to get up and down these mountains and who knows i might stumble onto a bigger turbo

Phiz: i have no clue, the people say its a 1978 but it has the dual range tranny so im not sure.

  2. I have a 1992 Loyale and love every bit of it, a couple of opportunities have been presented to me recently the first being a 1970s or 1980s brat (it has the dual range but also has the rounded headlights so im confused), i want to buy it and fix it up with a lift kit as well as a more powerful engine which brings me to my second opportunity which is a 1984 turbo GL wagon that i can possibly get for free. I would take the engine out of that and put it in either my loyale or the brat if i buy it. what are your thoughts on this?

  3. Thanks man, turns out i live about 30 miles from denver. The thought is nice too with the autos, my loyale is a manual though but ill check it out. i think i am looking for the engine out of a 1995 impreza (2.2 L 135 - 145 HP) add a 4 inch lift and i think ill be set.

  4. Sorry to all yes it is a 4G63 not ford. Stumpy, where can i find an EJ engine cheap? Under $800? And if so ill take that info. How much of a pain would it be to marry the G463 with my tranny? what would i need? Along those lines, when you say EJ is there a specific engine (car) impreza, outback, etc? thanks for all your help. And i have decided to stick with the 4 cyl because my car will still be my daily driver. If anyone is interested, i have found a way to get very very cheap and sometimes even free stuff (i.e. Car audio, speakers ((experimental stuff)), after market wheels((Toyota will be our only option)) and tires.) if anyone wants some info just message me.

  5. yes it wasnt a very popular engine. and i cant remmeber what my friend said it went in i think one of the cars he mentioned was an eagle something or rather. its an inline four. and they werent very popular. he has one in his 1989dodge colt. he says he can get my one for about $800. Thats why i would get one of them instead of a V6. They are really cheap. Plus more power. Theyre a turbo so it put out about 135-140 hp. Sooo Much better than 90.

  6. hello, im justin and ive got a 1992 loyale wagon that i want to lift. Might these free parts be of benifit to me in any way? would you be willing to give them to me by any chance. im 17 and this is my first car and im excited about what i want to do to it.

    thanks,

    justin

I still Have free lift parts for you if you want them

Hey Justin... I sent you a PM, you can access it by clicking underneath your name in the upper right had of your screen where it says Private Messages. Read it and let me know if you have any questions... Thanks! - Tex

  7. That's not a good way to gain lift, because half of off-road ability is the downtravel or droop of the suspension. Any time you have a tire off the ground, you are severly limited in traction. I see lots of guys around here with chevys and Toyotas with the torsion bars cranked up, but those trucks rarely hit the trails. If you do see them on the trails, they're the guy stuck in the easy part at the entrance to the trail with a front tire off the ground.

On my hatch, at stock height, the drop off of a speed bump will extend the front suspension to max, you can feel the struts hit the limit.

So, I wouldn't go that route. If you're going to do it, do it right.

yeah but the right way is kinda hard when you are in high school and cona barley afford gas and insurence. man i need to get a job and get my business up and running.

    thanks though

  8. If i want to lift my sube, couldnt i just put heavier duty and thicker springs in place of the stock springs? I notice that when i jack it up that there is a fair amount of clearence between the wheel well and the tire. Why dont people just do that?

  9. thanks, and what about the CV joints? what can they be made from to make them stronger? and if these two items (both more durable and stronger and longer when it comes to axles) were mass produced i need to knwo how many of you all would buy them?

    Thanks,

    Justin

  10. Alright here we are, another question by me. So how lond do the axles need to be to put less strain on them? I know someone has made longer axles himself. And what about stonger CV joints? What are they made out of, what kind of material? Can they be made stronger and more durable?

  11. i dont know what kind of lift to get? im new at this whole thing, im wanting 4" of whatever will give me the best performance. is there a sticky on here about nothign but lifts and how to do them? and i would like to see this hime made lift.
