  1. Checked with engine running. The light message is the bad cat one (o2 sensor) has been on since 2006. I'll check the ground.
  2. I checked my trans fluid, it is on the L so I guess that is low. It only does it with a right turn never a left. The turns are of the clover leaf type. What happens is the car starts shuddering and the check engine light goes off and on (normally it is on all the time). But the car has enough momentum to keep going and doesn't stall. After checking the fluid I think it might be because I a little low on fluid.
  3. When I take a tight right on a highway ramp my 2003 OBW shutters like it is trying to cut off. I notice that the RPMs are kind of low and downshifting seems to correct it but this an AT. Any ideals?
  4. I just picked up some front pads for my 2003 OBW. They are from O'Reillys. They are the Japanese ceramic ones. There are no shims or clips in the box. Is something missing?
  5. Yes when I turned the can upside down to empty it, it was bubbling out between the compression fitting and hose. Earlier when I tried using the fluorescent stuff you could see it splattered in the area.
  6. It is a 2003 4cyl Outback wagon. Yes I am interested in the discharge hose.
  7. I need a high pressure hose assembly for my 2003 OBW air conditioner. I see a couple online from $53 - $122. What is the OEM part number?
  8. It has an aftermarket Pioneer stereo in it. Or is this a Subaru thing?
  9. A couple of months ago I cleaned the battery post on my 2003 OBW. When I cut the car off now it beeps 5 times. Any ideals?
  10. What is the black and white wire hot wire used for on the trailer hitch connector (the one in the car that you plug into)? Electrical brakes? I'm going to use the old converter out of my Suzuki Sidekick. I need to rearrange a few wires but the color coding is the same.
  11. The light for my odometer and the shift indicator (on the center console between the seats) went out on the same day. Kind of sounds like a short. Does anyone know what kind of light they take or what the problem might be?
  12. Gee I'm glad I asked before I bought one. Probably go with MWE. Has anyone used the GCE axles?
  13. I'm replacing my cv drive shaft (2003 OBW) and was wondering if it really matters whether I use a new or rebuilt one. Napa has the new one. Autozone has the rebuilt one.
  14. Not having a ST 499977000 tool or a face spanner wrench Doug Penland came up with this method of removal of the crankshaft pulley. (the photo was taken while we were putting it back on. to remove, the bar would be behind the upper extension and in front of the bottom one) the tools the placement
  15. I finally changed it. 112838 miles on it. It looked like it still had some life left to it.
  16. I'm back in town finally. This is the list I've come up with. Still don't see any O rings for the camshaft cap but I guess they are up under the camshaft cap. They caps don't come off during the timing belt change do they? The holding tool for the right side looks like something I can make. For the left side it looks like I can use two vice grips taped together. What did you all do about it? Also I didn't see a water pump for the Outback, is the Legacy one the same one? https://www.subarugenuineparts.com Description Total Cost Timing belt $62.18 Idler pulley $54.86 Idler pulley $59.82 upper and lower Tensioner $105.15 Front crank seal $5.87 Water pump, $84.14 legacy, 2.5l Thermostat $10.94 Total: $382.96
