  1. I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE HAD THE GAUGE RESTING ON EMPTY. STILL NO LIGHT. AND WHEN I FILL UP I CAN ONLY PUT IN 13.5 GALLONS. HMM? BUT IT SAYS IT SHOULD HAVE A 15.9 GALLON TANK...HMM
  2. I have 1999 Imp O/B Sport. I was just curious if they have a low fuel light? Thanks Jon
  3. So I take it those connectors are for reading codes? I was just curious what they were for. Thanks:grin:
  4. Quick Question. What does the pair of green connectors go to? I got under my dash and saw them, was just curious as to what they are? Thanks Jon
  5. THIS WOULD BE A GREAT HELP VIN : JF1GF4858XH800115 IF YOU ARE ABLE TO DO THIS FOR ME, I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT THANKS JON
  6. Again thanks!, I am going down first thing tomorrow to autozone, and have them see if they can get the exact code, just out of curiosity. If it was another one of the sensors you listed, would they also give off a code. I know the Knock sensor does, Have had that happen already, but would the others? I just got in it to go out to lunch and heres what happens.... Its drives, but it has no power. you hit the gas and it just goes slowly up in speed and RPM then it starts to sort of jerk "lightly" and the power comes back after a about 2 miles. but then it does it again, I am going about 35mph and when I hit the gas to speed up...nothing!...just sluggish....thats the best I can describe....any thoughts?
  7. Thanks for your reply, I plan to drive down to autozone and check and see if they can give the specific code, but I would agree to change the first as well. I've read they are the usual suspects. You said "There are other sensors issues that can cause the symptoms you described". Like what? Anything else I should check?
  8. Ok, I have had my CEL on for a while now, so I went to Autozone and had them read the code. The guy said all that he can tell me is that the rear 02 sensor was giving a "false" code. What does that mean. My car occasionally when driving starts to sort of bogg down, and when you hit the gas it gets worse, but when I let off and take it slow it goes back to normal. I think it might retard the timing, it did the same thing when the Knock sensor failed. So I know I have 2 o2 sensors (front and rear). Which should be replaced.? Need some guidance?
  9. Quick Question for 1999 Imp o/b Sport. Hooking up HELLA lights and novelty horn. Need a place to run the wires, but having trouble finding a place through the firewall....anyone have any idea if there is already a hole in the fire wall to the cabin that would be good for running the wires through that is easy to get to? Didnt have much time to look this morning, but any help will do!! Jon
  10. Thanks for your reply, Do you know if the generic sensor will do. I want to keep the cost down as much as possible. Also since I have never done this before, would you know if I just unhook the old sensor and just "plug-in" a new one or is there more to it like cutting wires etc... Thanks for your help! Jon
  11. Ok Here's the deal, I have a 1999 Subaru Imp O/B Sport, and I am wanting to change the front O2 Sensor. Never done this type of job before. I was just wanting to know if this should be a task that I leave up to a shop to complete, or Is it something anyone can do with a little effort and patience. I believe I can see the front O2 sensor when I remove the right front tire. Doesn't Look to hard to get to. But Like I said never done this before. Any input would be great! Thanks Jon Somerset KY
  12. Not sure if this was the right thing to do, but my 99 impreza outback sport did the same thing. I took a screw driver and popped off the round rubber cover at the base of the passenger wiper and un-did the nut that holds it on...I adjusted the wiper a little higher up on the window...and then put on the nut "real tight" it hasnt hit in a while". I am sure there is some other "better" way to correct it out there....
  13. Please Help "if You Can" If You Have A Unlimited Car Fax Acct. Would You Mind Running The Vin#.... Jf1gf4858xh800115. I Would Greatly Appreciate It. Thank You If Your Able To Help. Jon
  14. Ok, Again Another "cel" Issue. I Ran The Computer And It Gave Off A Code For Oxygen Sensor Malfunction, And Knock Sensor Malfunction. I Dont Understand Why It Gave Me The Knock Sensor Malfunction, B/c I Just Tried To Replace The Sensor...when I Did The Car Ran Like Horse Sh*t. It Would Mis And Carry-on, Would Not Run At All...so I Took The New Sensor Off And Cleaned The Block And Old Sensor...put It Back On And The Car Ran Fine....now I Get The Cel And It Gives Me O2 Sensor.....i Quess What My Question Is, Does A 1999 Imp O/b Sport Have 1 Or 2 Sensors...i Looked Quickly Under The Car This Morning And I Seen One At The Cat Converter. Also The Car Is Doing Pretty Much The Same Thing It Did When The Knock Senor Caused The Cel...it Would Drive Fine And Then All Of A Sudden Start To Hesitate And Then The Rpm's Would Drop And Go Into "limp Home Mode"...still Run, But Would Not Go Very Fast For A Few Moments And Then Go Back To Normal. So Here's What I Am Thinking To Do. I Am Going To Call A Mechaninic And Have The O2 And Knock Sensor Changed At The Same Time...the Car Has 192000 Mile On It, Dont Know Weather Or Not It Was Ever Changed.....before I Do, Just Would Like To Know If This Is Something I Could Possibly Do, Or If It Something That Should Be Left Up To Professionals? Thanks Jon
  15. I DID PULL THE TIRE OFF..AND THERE IS SOME SCORING...THE PADS ARE STILL GOOD....NOW I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT FIXING BRAKES...BUT HOW DO YOU FIX SCORING?
  16. Guys, Still learning about my soob as always...Yesterday I had to stomp on the brakes HARD, otherwise the jerk who pulled out in front of me at 65mph would not be able to walk today due to me slamming into him....however I avoided the incident thanks to the quick acting brakes and great handling of my Outback sport. But here's the problem since that took place I have a grinding noise from my front right tire area. I think its the brakes...It does it when I am at low speeds(5-10mph) but when I hit the brakes its usually goes away and then again sometimes it doesn't...Any advice would be great.
  17. Does Anyone Know If There Is A Company That Manufactures Snorkle Kits To Fit A Subaru Imp O/b Sport? Or If There Is A Snorkle Kit That Can Be Modified To Fit My Setup. I Have Searched And Come Up Empty. P.s. If Not, Does Anyone Have Any Ideas On How To Make One Jon
  18. Ok, Well whatever was wrong with the knock sensor is now fixed, No problems so far. I am still wanting to get the keyless entry working...the only thing I can find in the manual is that I need to press the overide programming button...problem is that the button is not there? HELP?
  19. Oh I did forget to mention that....there was issues before I bought the new part...If I was going up hill the light would come on and the car would shutter and then wouldn't go very fast. and then eventually it would go back to normal in a matter of minutes....really it didnt only do it on hills...it would do it pretty much anytime. so when the light came on i drove straight to autozone and had them read the computer. Also another question I have the keyless entry on this car...but the remote doesnt work..I thought it was the remote battery so I bought a new one....but no luck..now I know there is an overide programming button on the car below the steering wheel...but I believe someone has removied it from the car....because its missing...is there any way to replace that...or get the programming to work any other way?
  20. I have 1999 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport AWD 190,000 miles 2.2lt...anywho..I had the CEL go off and the PCM at autozone read....Knock Sensor Malfunction in Bank 1....so I go ahead and purchase a new Knock Sensor...take the old one off and put the new one on.....AS soon as I started the car with the new one ...the Engine Missed and carried on, would not go at all...SO i took it off and cleaned the block with steel wool and put it back on....still the same...so i took the old one and cleaned it with steel wool and....it is running just fine....CEL Still on ..but no more missing and timing problems. ...So did I solve the problem or not....anyone have any suggestions? Thanks Jon
  21. I just purchased my very first Subaru this week, and I have some problems with the Check Engine Light coming on and staying on...I ran the computer at AutoZone. and IT said Knock Sensor Malfunction.. When the check engine light comes on it retards the timing to save the engine...so its doing its job....but its really getting annoying. I dont want to keep having to slow down and wait for it to go back to normal timing....I have put all new gas in it and put some lucas oil treatment in the motor...thinking maybe its due to bad gas or oil pressure...but it still is doing it....Does anyone know if I can just unhook the Sensor? If so Where would it be located? I would greatly appreciate all the help anyone can give. Thanks Jon 1999 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport AWD 2.2 Mileage: 191,000 Automatic Transmission
