  1. Ok so here's the run down i bought this 79 brat a month and a half ago(it had been sitting for a whole year till i bought it). There were a couple things wrong with it but this short was not around then. So on the way home somethings that weren't working started to work like the windshield wipers decided to work after i had just kept them on and also the headlights turned on all the sudden. Still no short but everything seemed to start fixing it self. So i let it sit for a month and during this month the things i have done to fix it up are: Cap/rotor brakes front/rear spark plugs wires thermostat air filter That is all i have done to it so i have not messed with any of the wiring. The thermostat wire was not hooked up when i got it and still is not because i half to take out the radiator to get to it because its stuck underneath it. But this ghost was not around when i first got the car and it was unplugged then so i don't think that's the problem. The symptoms of the ghost are the right turn single gives a dull pulse and when the car warms up the gas/temp gauge rocket up to past full/over heating. I know which it is not over heating because the sensor isn't plugged in and i know coolant is flowing and the fuel was only at half. So any help on where this ghost might be or some advice on tracking it down and where to start would be really helpful, thanks! -Aaron
  2. might be interested but i wont beable to make the show. so i would need it shipped.
  3. wops lol that was a huuuuuge typo lol i ment 79 my bad guys. But i also just realized that you did it in a 2nd gen brat... grr i was lookin at the parts car and the brats tranny xmembers and they are just a bit different to say the least... I know i half to swap the bell housing from the EA82 motor to the EA71 motor to get the tranny to bolt up. But mounting i dont think it will be as easy as in the 2nd gens... any suggestions on that? i know im gonna half to cut out the a bigger whole so the d/r part will fit in the car. I know i can make my only tranny xmember... but i truelly and honestly dont wanna do that i weld/fabricate as a living lol so its not exactly what i wanna do when i get home.
  4. So i was trying to measure both the xmembers and it seems to me that the EA82 it a little bit bigger then the EA71's xmember. I tryed finding if i could use a EA82 xmember and i couldnt find if i could i saw i could us a EA81 xmember but i dont have one of those. Can i use a EA82 xmember in a 79 brat? Thanks Oh also i would like to use the hub/brake set up front the front of the EA82 and the struts looked different how they bolted to the hub from the brat and the gl. I saw that the 87 used a 3 bolt pattern when the brat only used a three. I could drill 3 new holes and get the strut to fit but is there a way i could use the Brats struts? I looked for this but no such luck either.
