  1. No, the security is disabled, but this piece wouldn't be affected by security anyway. It's just the little edge piece beneath the a/c and surrounding the stereo unit so that it looks flush. And John, i'm familiar with passcodes for hondas but i haven't had any issues w/ the subaru needing a code to operate. At least there's no code on my manual...
  2. hey, i'm trying to reconnect my cd player to the wiring ( i think the either the grounding wire or antenna came out of the socket). i've taken out the panels, cup holder, ashtray, and have 2 screws out of top of trim but can't remember how to get the trim out to access cd casing. I don't think it had clips but can't see anywhere to unscrew anymore screws except for 2 big ones holding the middle console in place and that doesn't need to be removed. Also, the radio doesn't work even when the antenna is up. Any advice would be appreciated.
  3. Not the bad alt...got that checked repeatedly and later on replaced, but that it wasn't the problem. THe old one wasn't even bad to begin with. But i will get that sending unit checked out. THanks!
  4. This happens with my car (whistling in all gears) and i used to worry about it, but when my bf was trying to sell my car, he told the most interested buyer about this, who had owned 2 subarus previously and one currently. He said 2 of his had done this but had caused no tangible problems, and said it was just a subaru quirk. Since this only happens to me when the car is being driven properly (maybe a little hard) i don't worry about it anymore, now thinking of it as a happy sound, whistling past the other cars. And hopefully i won't have to worry about it in the future since i decided against selling.
  5. hi, my 2.5 Legacy sedan used to overheat...or it would tell me it was overheating, but after checking the engine it wouldn't be warm even to the touch. After plenty of scares we went to the repair shop several times and never produced same results when test driven. Finally decided guage was broken and haven't gone to fix it. It's driven less often now and we haven't had any more problems. I'm just wondering if this may be connected to the HG problem if the engine isn't really hot?
