  1. I did the same thing (running from the nipple to the wastegate) and I am also getting boost creep to 15 psI. I am gonna try hooking the boost solenoid back up.
  2. ok. so where would I put a MBC if I want to put one in?
  3. so what is he saying that it is ok to run an open down pipe.? so the boost solenoid should be hooked up. what is the purpose of this little thing.??
  4. Here are a few mods I have done and dont know if I am helping or hurting.?? 1.plumbed in a intercooler but does not have a hood scoop to get the cold air. awaiting a hood scoop. 2.disconnected the lines running to the boost solenoid and ran a little tiny rubber hose to each port off the turbo instead of running it to the solenoid. Do I need the solenoid? 3. cut off the exhaust right after the down pipe and is running wide open. the car just seems like it wants to go and it will pull hard for a second and then you poke the throttle and it feel like its not making boost like it should. Oh I also have 87 octane in it.. any input would be really helpfull. thanks Ian
  5. well this might not be so bad. if the engine does not have to come all the way out do all the connections still have to be taken off. is there enouph slack to pull the engine up where the radiator is?
  6. my main concern is getting all the uptop connections unhooked then rehooked and as for the rest I can handle that.. I will keep you guys updated on the project. thanks:)
  7. I am going to the store right now. thanks for the helpfull hints. thank god someone can give me some info on the car. thanks again
  8. Great .......thanks I appreciate the help on my new ride.
  9. well he gave me a light larger flywheel off a v6 that is supposed to bolt right up and that is already turned. what are the main connections that I have to undo to get this motor out.. I also have a hoist and have tools readily accessible
  10. well the guy I got the car from said that pulling the motor was a breeze. This is the first time working on a subaru so I am open to any idea's. He also told me that two people could lift the motor up and pull it out? true/false? and the whole thing could be done in two hours..
  11. I just got the car so it is question time:D I got a boost controller for it and am running ten pounds on 93 octane. what is the boost limit on pump gas. also I have the stock exhaust on the car except for the down pipe everything after that is stock. is the stock muffler restrictive and if I remove it and put a glass pack on the back what will it to to my torque?
  12. I have heard of different ways of installing the clutch on my 88 rx turbo and I was wondering if anyone had any quick tips on how to do the swap?
