  1. I have just mistakenly bought an intercooler that was from a twin turbo model so it probably has an extra outlet pipe. Can i still use it and if so what do I need to do to it to make it think its only for a single turbo? Can I just block one of the outlets or can i join them up with a y pipe or something? I am no expert, just trying to do an intercooler conversion so any help on the whole process will be much apreciated. Cheers.
  2. One for sale for 500 NZ dollars but the advert says it has a "popped compression ring"...does anyone know what this might be here is the advert.... Subaru Leone RX turbo 1985 4WD/2WD select Popped compression ring Pressuring crank case Mint black interior Heavy duty clutch, 2 1/2 inch exhaust Done approx 10,000km on reconditioned turbo, and 6000km on rebuilt motor. Good for 175 km/h in 3rd gear!! Photos to come. Any clues?
  3. Thanks you two.........the knowledge people have on here beats any owners manual or dodgey advice from the so called main dealer experts. I appreciate your help. Interestingly enough the soob I was looking at buying was in fact converted from auto to manual so you are spot on about the diff not quite suiting the gearbox. Cheers....more questions to come.
  4. Hello, could you please tell me how the 4WD system is best shifted. Can you change from 4wd lo to 4wd hi at 50 kph or not? If a system has difficulty selecting in and out and is hard to get out of 4wd what are the usual causes? If the car has a lift kit and bigger wheels and is stuck in 4wd is this likely to stress the 4wd system or benefit it? Thanks in advance and apologies for so many questions. Karl
  5. Thanks mate....my mechanical knowledge is limited so a 5 lug conversion sounds like rocket science. So is it cheaper to buy second hand and run the risk, or by knew struts and retain the springs?
  6. Hello everyone and forgive me if this post is in the wrong place and a little long, but I could really do with some suspension help as I have just bought a 86 EA82T station wagon for 200 dollars with 210000 kilometres on it. The thing will never go on the roads, and is used for fun down at the river but goes really well and the 4WD system selects in and out fine both hi and lo. Like I mentioned before, the suspension has had it as the last owner tried to push the poor girl a little far and the struts all round are getting quite poor. Basically from what I have read on these forums, (most) legacy and wrx suspensions will fit the front. So my question to you guys is........ what is the cheapest and strurdiest back shocks that can be gleaned off another car that may give an inch or two more than what was on it before? Cheap is the main aim here. (People seem to want 400 dollars for suspension when you can buy another whole car for half of that amount)Thanks everyone for your help in advance....I have learnt alot after reading over these forums for the past 2 days. Karl
