  1. so a new garret t3 would be over kill for a 1.8? oh yeah and would this be one of those deals on the td04...... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MITSUBISHI-TD04-TURBOCHARGER-TURBO-VOLVO-HONDA-TOYOTA_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQitemZ280093331987QQrdZ1
  2. i've been looking at these.......... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=019&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=290087071086&rd=1 so that turbo would be a waste of my time? im on a super low budget and probably end up getting a used turbo. so it'd be better if i got a used one, looped the coolant lines and maybe ecool the oil line? thanks for the replys
  3. i am going to replace the turbo on my wagon to one of the ebay t3/t4 ones. and i understand that stock ea82t's run oil and cooland to the turbo (correct?) and the turbo im getting doesn't run the coolant through it, so my question is would it be better to just cap or rerout the coolant lines or to run a extra coolant cooler, like an extra smaller radiator. anyone have any thoughts on this? does anyone have experience replacing the turbo on these motors? thanks -david
  4. oh yeah and they are the first gen heads (i think) 85 gl turbo mpfi - that is why i ask
  5. i know about the mpfi and spfi stuff, i'd jut setup two injectors on one port, i was just wondering about the rumors of cracking ea82t heads........
  6. got it and i found out napa is better than howleys
  7. im about to rebuild a turbo ea82 motor and try for about 160-180hp with a bigger turbo and refrigerent cold air intake deal, anyways my question is: is it worth my time to keep the ea82t heads or to just go for the non turbo head/block with turbo pistons? i know that by using the non turbo head i'll have to make a new intake manifold for the injectors but that seems easier than having to tear the motor down again to replace or fix a head. any input at all would be nice. thanks -david
  8. it is an ea82t and when i went to the store i tried an 87 cap and that didn't work, the bolts and the radius were like millimeters off, im gonna try napa and howlley's tomarrow. if it helps... the distributor is one of those weird ones with like one flange coming off for the bolt to the head -thanks for all the replys -David
  9. i got a 85 gl turbo wagon today and now i can't find a distributor cap for it. it uses bolts, but when i went to an autoparts place all they had was clipped ones that didn't fit anyways. does anyone have experience with 85 gl turbo motors?
  10. just wondering if the clutches are the same for all ea82's like 85-93 or whatever the years are... like gl,dl, and xt's - turbo or non turbo? i've been looking on ebay and they have funny descriptions of what they fit like only dl's 2wd and stuff.
  11. im getting a turbo ea82 motor for my 91 loyale wagon. im going to rebuild the motor, and just wondering what is different about the ea82 and ea82t gasket sets. i already know the intake and exhaust gaskets are different but what else is?
